What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Director of Regulatory Programs, this role leads Personal Lending to investigate complex regulatory issues stemming from existing regulations. Key accountabilities include leading the investigation, identifying root causes, taking a strategic perspective on the sustainability of recommended solutions, and reporting/presentation of complex matters to senior executives. This role also performs a key role in consulting on complex regulatory matters related to the first, second, and third line of defense functions across all Real Estate Secured Lending brands within CIBC.

How you'll succeed
Strategy and Planning – Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in managing complex regulatory issues impacting Personal Lending products, including conducting an in-depth analysis of issues arising from existing regulatory matters, working closely with executives and their teams within key stakeholder groups to identify root causes, remediation, and potential solutions (both strategic and tactical).
Product Development - Lead and provide direction to product team members on complex regulatory matters. Oversee development options and proposals related to development or enhancements of specific products or services, assessing the impact, effectiveness and feasibility of proposed changes, and making authoritative recommendations. Responsible for the overall design, development and implementation of new products and product plans. Accountable for the planning and delivery of enhancements and fixes specific to client-facing applications. Contribute to the creation of business cases for new initiatives and enhancements.
People Management - Lead, motivate and coach on an on-going basis. Identify gaps and remove obstacles to performance, develop action plans to align with business priorities. Create a positive work environment and role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision and values. Comply with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect. Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.
Who you are
You can demonstrate extensive experience in the management of complex regulatory matters, strategic planning, and project management sufficient to identify, develop, and implement approved initiatives on personal lending regulatory matters. You have strong analytical, and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and presentation skills sufficient to prepare and present material to an executive audience.
