Reporting to the Global Head of Science and R&D Communications, the Director of R&D and Pipeline Communications is responsible for delivering on the R&D communications plan for Sanofi with a focus on driving excellence in our pipeline internal communications.

Main Responsibilities:

Serve as a communications partner to the R&D organization

Develop and deliver effective thought leadership and scientific storytelling to elevate the reputation of Sanofi in scientific excellence.

Lead and execute internal communications strategy for R&D with a focus on transformational excellence.  This includes leading on communications for townhalls and other internal events, managing R&D’s share of voice on owned internal channels, change communications, and more.

About You

Professional experience

A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or a related scientific field is required

8-10+ years of corporate communications experience in the healthcare space. Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology area experience is required (product, pipeline or R&D communications)

Strong expertise and passion for internal communications.

Agency experience preferred

Ability to travel 20% overall

Passionate about the pharmaceutical industry and the value we deliver to patients

Strong understanding of communications concepts, practices, strategies and tactics based on understanding of key audiences and corporate objectives

Excellent working knowledge of the digital and social media landscape in engaging audiences, with the ability to deliver innovative approaches and plans within this growing and important space

Proactive and able to work independently and interdependently in a team environment

Good networking and relationship-building skills and the ability to interact with confidence with various levels and functions

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Good project management skills

Strong issues management capabilities
