The Director of Retail Strategy at T-Mobile will be responsible for driving innovation in the in-store experience, positioning T-Mobile as a front runner in the industry. This role combines strategic vision, team empowerment, and a commitment to excellence, ensuring that T-Mobile’s retail strategy reflects our dynamic brand and forward-thinking culture. The Director will inspire a talented team of experts in customer experience, insights, analytics, retail technology, and program development, all while fostering an inclusive work environment. The Director is responsible for integrating strategic vision with practical implementation, driving innovation and excellence across all retail operations. This team will create retail experiences for our customers that will inspire them with the amazing service they would expect out of a high-end retailer, as well as learning about all the different ways T-Mobile can help connect them to the world around them!

Job Responsibilities:

Define and implement a visionary "Retail North Star" strategy. Apply consistent strategy frameworks to gain insights and guide strategic decisions that resonate with a broad audience. Design interactive in-store programs and experiences that inspire exploration and engagement, bridging the gap between digital and physical ecosystems, to deliver customer love, advocacy, and long-term enterprise value creation.Partner with top technology providers to enhance retail capabilities, prioritizing solutions that support the best customer experience. Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic projects, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time and aligned with T-Mobile’s brand promise. Conduct forward-looking research to stay attuned to consumer trends, needs, and emerging retail capabilities along with competitive industry trends and innovations. Build and maintain a robust measurement capability, using data-driven insights to amplify retail experiences and connect with all communities. Utilize analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize merchandising strategies and continuously improve retail performance. Collaborate with executive leadership to align strategies across the Consumer organization, promoting a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and effective decision-making. Mentor and empower a high-performing, diverse team that brings varied experiences and insights to high-impact initiatives. 


Qualifications:

10+ years in corporate strategy (or similar) or strategy consulting with a consumer-led or multi-brand focus preferably with a top retailer; 5+ years leading analytics, strategy, and/or project teams. Analytical expertise, executive-level communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of retail trends, strategy frameworks, financial planning, strategic thinking, adaptability, and a creative approach to developing unique retail experiences. A strong commitment to inclusive leadership, with proven experience fostering diverse, high-performing teams. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

Base Pay Range: $165,800 - $224,300

Corporate Bonus Target: 25%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
