Director, Sales Operations - Digital Markets

About this role:  

The Gartner Digital Markets (GDM) Sales team is currently seeking a talented people leader, with an entrepreneurial mindset, to join its Operations team as Director of Sales Operations.  In this role, you will be directly responsible for foundational sale processes including territory design and management, sales performance and program reporting, and ultimately supporting overall sales execution.  This individual will work directly with sales leadership as well as cross functional teams including Sales Enablement & L&D, Sales Technology and GDM’s Sales Analytics team.    

  

What you will do:  

Own GDM Sales reporting strategy including identification and tracking of KPIs,  sales performance reporting, and performance analytics Understand, analyze and interpret sales data and performance metrics and communicate the results and findings to the business and help create a culture of data-driven decision making, in a timely manner   Collaborate with sales leaders to develop and execute sales pipeline management discipline and process, including effective forecasting cadences, account planning, and performance management Work closely with GDM Sales Analytics to scope additional data needs, create new data views, and improve existing tools and resources Help identify data quality issues, such as data gaps or biases in underlying data sets, as well as their impact on reporting capabilities Collaborate with sales enablement and L&D to provide reporting and analysis of sales programs   Manage territory design and management leveraging Anaplan  Partner with Gartner Digital Markets sales leaders to define growth needs and design profitable territories that align with corporate sales strategy and guidelines  Partner with Gartner's Variable Compensation team and GDM leadership to maintain effective compensation plans and establish sales revenue goals and quotas  Collaborate with Sales Enablement to improve utilization of sales productivity tools including Gong and LISN Drive high-impact initiatives from end-to-end, including special projects, process improvements, and strategic programs: managing requirements gathering, scoping, execution, and enablement. Establish strong working partnerships with relevant areas of the business and other partners   Support sales MVP and Sales Leaders in carrying out various sales operations related activities and programs Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing sales operations and strategy team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. 

  

What You Will Need:  

8+ years' experience in sales operations or process/business consulting, including 2+ years in a leadership capacity Previous sales experience (preferred, not required)  MBA or equivalent degree (preferred, not required)  Exceptional analytical skills, including high proficiency with Microsoft Excel, databases, etc. Analytical skills include running regression analysis, modeling scenarios, testing hypotheses  Comprehensive understanding of sales operations, including territory management, quota setting, reporting and analytics  Ability to develop strong credibility with Sales leadership and become a trusted advisor  Ability to build partnerships and collaborate across lines of businesses  Ability to work independently and with limited direction  Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills   Demonstrated abilities in project execution.  Highly competent user of Excel and Powerpoint, Anaplan experience a plus  Strong facilitation, communication, leadership and influence skills Practiced at leading teams with a growth mindset, and passionate about team learning and development  Ability to adapt quickly to evolving needs of a high growth sales team

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 116,000 USD - 164,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
