Job Title: Director, Sales - UK Public Sector

Location: United Kingdom (London/SouthEast)

As the Red Hat Software Sales Director for the UK Public Sector, you will lead the Red Hat Public Sector teams  strategic sales efforts, drive revenue growth, and expand our market presence. Reporting to the UK Enterprise Sales Leader, you will develop and nurture high-level relationships across government entities and agencies, aligning Red Hat  enterprise solutions with the UK public sector needs.

This role combines sales leadership, public sector expertise, and a deep understanding of enterprise software.

What you will bring:

Sales Strategy & Account Growth: Develop and execute a UK public sector sales strategy to meet growth targets, working with central government and public agencies.

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a sales team of account executives fostering a growth-focused, collaborative culture.

Relationship Management: Cultivate C-level, SRO, senior civil and stakeholder relationships to secure business and upsell opportunities.

Market & Competitor Analysis: Analyse market trends, procurement frameworks, and competitive landscape to drive positioning and solution offerings.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, marketing, customer success, and support teams to ensure seamless client experiences.

Bid & Proposal Management: Orchestrate  RFP/RFI responses, ensuring compliance with public sector requirements and high-quality documentation.

Pipeline & Forecasting: Manage sales pipeline and forecasting in Salesforce , maintaining accurate visibility into new business and recurring opportunities.

Business Development: Create innovative, account-based marketing campaigns with the support of marketing teams; develop multi-year growth strategies.

Promote Red Hat’s Approach: Position Red Hat’s hybrid cloud, automation, and consulting solutions to address varying IT maturity levels across public sector organisations.

What you will need:

Experience: 7-10 years of software or technology sales leadership in the UK Public Sector, with 3-5 years in a senior or director-level role.

Sector Knowledge: Familiar with the UK public sector,  procurement, budget cycles, and frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, CCS, TP2).

Sales Expertise: Background in enterprise software (e.g., SaaS, cloud services, enterprise platforms) with value-based, services-led sales approach.

Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to lead high-performing sales teams and nurture talent.

Stakeholder Management: Established track record of building partnerships with government and public sector decision-makers.

Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Salesforce and sales analytics tools.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related field preferred.

Public Sector Expertise: Understanding of UK government agencies, partner ecosystems, and experience working with CCS / GDS.

Effective communication, negotiation, and the ability to close deals

Experience with government procurement frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, CCS).

Knowledge of CRM/sales platforms, especially Salesforce.

Strong public sector network.
