LinkedIn is looking for a Software Engineering Infrastructure Director. Technology leaders collaborate, maintain balance, commit and achieve results – all while upholding immense pride in their quality of work. Responsibilities:
- Lead company-wide infrastructure initiatives to ensure scalability, reliability, and security across all systems, developing and executing strategic plans aligned with business objectives. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Grow and mentor the infrastructure engineering team, including individual contributors and managers, by defining career development paths, supporting skill-building, and fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture. Identify and recruit top engineering talent, ensuring a balance of skills to support both project execution and long-term infrastructure strategy.
- Champion best practices in DevOps and infrastructure-as-code, implementing standardized processes for infrastructure deployment and configuration. Work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to optimize system performance, driving enhancements to improve reliability and user experience.
- Proactively identify risks and develop disaster recovery and backup protocols to ensure business continuity. Maintain robust security standards, continuously assessing and adapting infrastructure to meet compliance and security requirements.
- Implement monitoring and logging solutions to achieve real-time visibility, supporting early detection and response for incidents across the infrastructure. Present regular updates on infrastructure performance metrics and progress on key initiatives to senior leadership, providing insights to inform future strategy and growth.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of work experience in the technical field.
- 3+ years of technical leadership experience leading teams of 30+
- Proven track record of leadership and hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing large-scale infrastructure.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years of work experience in the technical field.
- 6+ years of technical leadership experience leading teams of 30+
- Strong understanding of data infrastructure, AI/ML training and serving pipelines, cloud computing, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with automation tools and configuration management, along with experience in systems performance optimization, is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to align infrastructure strategies with company goals, managing resources effectively to scale infrastructure while maintaining reliability and security. Skilled at setting long-term plans and adapting roadmaps to evolving business needs.
- In-depth knowledge of security best practices and risk management, with a record of successfully implementing security protocols and disaster recovery plans. Proficiency in navigating regulatory compliance for infrastructure is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Skilled at fostering collaboration and building relationships across teams and departments.

The pay range for this role is $218,000 to $357,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
