Director of Software Engineering (Chapter Leader) – Associate Experience Platforms

The Value You Deliver
The AXP Chapter Lead will be responsible for:
Directly managing a team of full-stack engineers that work across multiple squads within the product area
Providing technical leadership and coaching for engineers, with particular focus on web application development, AWS, Adobe Experience Manager and Salesforce
Driving end to end application portfolio strategy - roadmaps, TLM, standards – and ensuring scale & reuse across the portfolio
Partnering with product owners to prioritize technical efforts and provide input on product features and capabilities.
Collaborating with Architecture and Platform Engineering teams to set technical direction and ensure alignment with the wider Fidelity technology strategy.
Creating a diverse and inclusive environment that fosters a sense of belonging, connection, and community
Managing talent reviews, performance, compensation, goal setting, development, and recruitment
Facilitating learning across the chapter to promote skills and career growth
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
10+ years’ experience in technology management and/or leadership, with a proven record of developing high-performing engineering teams
Significant experience with web application development on the cloud – Angular, Vue, Node.js, REST/Graph APIs, AWS
Experience managing engineers working on SaaS based vendor products
Confident and influential leader with the ability to create a positive & collaborative culture
Ability to influence and build strong relationships with technical and non-technical partners, including senior leaders
Experience working within a large & complex company with a mature development ecosystem
Proven track record of managing a diverse application portfolio, including TLM and production support responsibilities
Proven record of evaluating and implementing new technologies and engineering practices
Strategic thinker with experience developing and executing technical roadmaps
High degree of organization and the ability to quickly context switch in a fast-paced environment
A positive attitude and the ability to quickly build partner confidence in chapter strategy
Desire and ability to mentor and coach engineers to achieve their full potential
The Team
The AXP team builds and maintains solutions that enable Fidelity associates and clients to collaborate on critical sales, service, and operations transactions. Our applications are used by many thousands of Wealth & Brokerage associates and Fidelity customers to complete a variety of important transactions, such as scheduling an appointment with their advisor.
