Director, Software Engineering (Hybrid)

Broadridge is hiring!  We’re seeking a Director, Software Engineering to join our stellar team.  This is a hands-on managerial position that will give you the opportunity to manage the development team while supporting our internal and external business applications. 

Work-Mode: This is a hybrid role where you will work 20%-40% of the time from a Broadridge office. Travel is limited and generally used for team learning and collaboration meetings.

Responsibilities:

Hands-on - Design, develop, and implement Business Intelligence solutions using reporting tools like IBM Cognos, Tableau, Power BI to turn raw data from databases like AWS RedShift, IBM DB2, Oracle, Aurora and MS SQL Server 

Hands-on - Writing complex queries for data presentation using AWS Redshift, IBM DB2, Oracle, Aurora, and SQL Server databases. 

Hands-on - Writing batch scripts using Python, VB Script and Power Shell.

Utilize your IT specialty knowledge to manage the delivery of support and enhancements/projects for internal and external business applications to meet the goals of the business

Lead the development team to gather, analyze and clarify requirements from multiple business partners and architect IT solutions with technical vision, maintainability, and total cost of ownership in mind

Coordinate with multiple developers within and outside of the core team to set clear goals and expectations with all team members

Identify growth opportunities for all the team members and ensure their continued growth

Oversee and continually improve technical implementation, code quality and overall productivity

Liaise with the Business, Quality Engineering and Infrastructure teams to review progress of all pending IT projects

Ensure compliance to Broadridge’s Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Change management processes

Work closely with Broadridge’s Architecture, Security, Technical Services and SRE teams to ensure technical best practices and Broadridge standards are adhered to on continuous basis

Provide statuses and estimates of all priority and non-priority IT projects along with recommended scope or schedule changes based on capacity and unforeseen challenges

Keep up to date on the latest modern IT trends and work actively with senior team members to make suggestions to improve overall quality

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years IT experience in BI Reporting Tools like IBM Cognos, Tableau and databases like AWS RedShift, Tableau and Power BI.

Experience managing a team of developers onshore and offshore, and managing and ensuring timely delivery of multiple parallel projects

Strong relational modelling skills

Basic understanding of COBOL/CICS and TWS scheduling system or similar scheduling systems.

Experience using code management tools, e.g., GIT or Bitbucket

Experience in creating tests; unit testing, data quality tests, and assumption testing

Financial Industry experience a plus

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $150,000 - $155,000. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
