DIRECTOR, STRATEGIC REIMBURSEMENT SUPPORT
SUMMARY:
The Director, Strategic Reimbursement Support will play a critical role in the growth of Ionis and its transformation into a fully integrated biotechnology organization, by building capabilities for market access and reimbursement support for Ionis’ innovative products. This individual will be responsible for working with the payer account team and sales force to navigate reimbursement issues and enable timely patient access for Ionis’ launch products and conduct and develop of training for field teams. This position will report to the Director, US Value and Access Marketing and ideally be located at our corporate headquarters in Carlsbad, California or at our Boston, Massachusetts office location.

Provide reimbursement support to Sales team, manage escalation process, coordinate communications and information exchange among field and HQ-based teams and external business partners. Serve as point of contact for escalations from the Sales team to ensure appropriate resolution of issues relating to payer pull through Serve as point of contact for Patient Services to escalate payer issues from the HUB to Ionis Payer Account Team Lead development of Market Access Training materials that are field facing across the Ionis Brand Portfolio Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues in sales, marketing and training to ensure market access strategy is understood and implemented. Coordinate with brand’s launch excellence and planning lead to ensure all timelines are met Clearly communicate goals, progress, risks, and mitigation plans for critical activities impacting launch US Market Access Leadership teamREQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate bachelor’s degree required, ideally in health sciences or business/marketing; MBA or other advanced degree preferred At least 15 years of bio/pharmaceutical experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12 years with a MBA/other advanced degree Previous experience in payer and/or access marketing of at least 3 years is preferred New product launch experience in the US is required for specialty drug launch Experience with both Pharmacy and Medical Benefit products, with knowledge of rare disease, orphan, or ultra-orphan product experience highly desirable Ability to partner and/or effectively collaborate across functions to gain alignment on approach, responsibilities, material development, and timelines Demonstrated ability and proven history of driving projects and initiatives to completion Highly organized and detail oriented, with strong project management and presentation and writing skills, proactive communications
