Director, Strategic Sourcing

The Director, Strategic Sourcing is a key leader of the negotiating efforts for Care Purchasing Services (“CPS”). He/She is responsible for improving contract value for CPS clients by leading the negotiation and execution of new Vendor contracts (including F&B, Plant Operations and Administrative programs), as well as the renewal thereof. The Director, Strategic Sourcing works closely with the Vendor Management team on all vendor related initiatives and/or issues. The Director also conducts general marketing and business development duties that will increase revenue for CPS, whilst participating in the overall growth and development of CPS.

The Role: 

Responsible for national and regional contract preparation, revision and/or renewal as well as providing support to CPS staff responsible for growing vendor programs in all contract areas assigned (Administrative, Plant Operations and Development, F&B) Responsible for supporting teams involved in vendor/manufacturer account management, retention and growth, as well as business development and planning in keeping with the mission and core values of the company.  Responsible for developing, maintaining and reporting metrics as it relates to Vendor contract/s value to CPS clients; ensuring contract value improvement year over year in order to enhance CPS revenue, vendor growth, client satisfaction and utilization.  Assist the SVP/COO in achieving and surpassing annual growth, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.  Work alongside the National Business Development Director, Senior Director of Client Relations, Marketing Manager, Senior Director of Clinical Programs/CPS Compliance Officer in overseeing the implementation of all CPS vendor contracts.  Responsible for the development and management of metrics associated with measuring the performance of the contracts.  Fiscal responsibility for budgeting, analyzing operating performance and industry trends to develop new business on the vendor programs side of the business operations.  Lead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes for the Vendor Management and F&B teams:  Lead proposal planning and administration of vendor contracts, negotiating terms and conditions and reviewing cost savings analyses.  Maintain and nurture vendor relationships, including pursuing non-traditional foodservice operators; remaining in contact with key points of contacts for vendors.  Collaborate with the CPS Leadership Team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization.  Support the work of Vendor Account Managers (VAMs) and Food & Beverage Account Managers (FBAMs) as it relates to any and all contracts and program roll-outs/business review and work with the Senior Director of Client Relations on transitioning of new communities to CPS programs.  Manage special projects and programs ensuring maximum NOI for the organization.  Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.  Participate in the company’s strategic planning process from strategy development, through to implementation and evaluation.  Lead, develop and train a high performing team to achieve organizational goals and maximum employee engagement. Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the SVP/COO.

 

 

Qualifications:

Bachelors’ degree required in business or a related field.  Significant leadership experience in vendor contract negotiations/management and customer service is required.  Demonstrated experience in developing sourcing strategy and leading contract negotiation.  Experience with and knowledge of GPOs required.  Experience in the Senior Living Industry and F&B is preferred. Strong relationship building skills with the ability to develop excellent working relationships with internal and external parties to achieve business outcomes.  Demonstrated success in a leadership role. Effectively engages team members to work cohesively and collaboratively.  Experience with strategy formulation and implementation.  In-depth knowledge of the GPO industry.

Travel Frequency: 25-50% 

Estimated Salary Range: $128,000 - $160,000

The actual title & salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
