The Role

Ouro is seeking a highly analytical and strategic thinker with a passion for driving business growth and operational excellence. As the Director of Strategy & Business Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping Ouro’s business strategy, optimizing product performance, and ensuring the seamless execution of key initiatives that drive our company’s growth and success. You will bring analytical visibility and rigor to both business problems and product roadmaps while fostering operational excellence. This is an ideal role for someone who is both a strategic problem solver and a resourceful multi-tasker.

This role will be based at Ouro HQ in Austin, Texas, and reports to the SVP GM of Netspend.

What You’ll Do

Develop and Execute Business Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to develop, refine, and implement strategic initiatives that drive business growth and operational efficiency.

Break Down Complex Strategic Problems: Uncover actionable insights by breaking down complex and ambiguous strategic problems, leveraging cross-functional teams to deliver against your strategy and goals.

Conduct In-Depth Market and Competitor Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitor positioning, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.

Drive Cross-Functional Project Execution: Collaborate with Product, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and other teams to gather requirements, set timelines, and ensure the successful delivery of various strategic initiatives.

Optimize Product Performance and Customer Experience: Evaluate product performance and user experience, identifying friction points, and providing data-driven recommendations for improvements and optimization.

Create Strategic Communication Decks and Reports: Develop compelling presentations and comprehensive reports to communicate strategy, project progress, and business insights to internal teams and stakeholders.

Lead Data-Driven Decision Making: Translate complex data into actionable insights, providing strategic guidance to optimize product performance and inform future strategies.

Evaluate Economic and Strategic Costs/Benefits: Assess the economic and strategic impact of programs and collaborate with management to execute those strategies.

Develop and Manage Project Plans: Create and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring all team members are aligned on tasks, timelines, and deliverables.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience in an analytical and strategic role (e.g., Top Tier Management Consulting firm, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or high-growth startup).

Strategic Problem Solver: Ability to break down ambiguous problems and apply a first principles approach to solving them.

Highly Analytical and Metrics-Focused: Skilled in executing complex analyses, defining KPIs, sizing opportunity areas, and measuring and reporting on performance across the business.

Strong Communicator: Ability to crisply communicate actionable data-driven insights to all audiences.

Product and Business Intuition: Strong understanding of product and business metrics and how insights fit into broader business goals.

Proven Experience in Driving Cross-Functional Projects: Experience leading strategic initiatives within the fintech or digital products space.

Outstanding Project Management Skills: Highly organized with great attention to detail.

Understanding of Digital Marketing, Product Development, and User Experience (UX) Principles: Familiarity with how to align promotional strategies to drive product adoption and growth.

MBA or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
