Log back in Director, Student Success Support and Outreach Posting Number 2024-13852 Posted Date 2 months ago(9/11/2024 9:08 AM) Location : Location US-NY-New York Hybrid Remote Work Classification Hybrid: 60% to 80% Onsite Department Office of Student Success School/Division University Enrollment Management (WS1960) Compensation Grade Band 54 Union N/A FT/PT Full-Time Category Student Services/Athletics Position Summary Provide leadership and expertise within the Office of Student Success to design, implement, and oversee student support and outreach programs, research, and targeted interventions that proactively address student success outcomes. Direct a diverse and technical team to create, iterate, and drive targeted student success initiatives, programming, and outreach, especially for student populations that could benefit most from support—working closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the university, collaborating and serving as a communicator to share, develop, and diffuse promising practices related to student success and student flourishing. Serve as a key member of the Student Success leadership team, helping to investigate and understand factors that affect student retention, satisfaction, and degree completion. Promote and collaborate on policy adjustment and alignment. Play a vital role in supporting NYU’s student flourishing goals by facilitating collaboratively designed interventions aimed at supporting students’ journeys from acceptance to graduation. Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field
Required Experience:
7+ years progressively responsible professional experience in enrollment management, academic affairs, student affairs, and/or student success-related areas in a higher education environment administering programs and or services. Experiencing supervising staff.
Preferred Experience:
7+ years experience leading teams that enhance student engagement to drive student success outcomes
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Broad understanding of student services and academic affairs; Experience developing and evaluating interventions to address barriers to student success; General knowledge of the range of student development and retention theories and the means by which to assess those theories in practice; An understanding of the current research, including promising practices in student success and retention, student mentorship, student transition and development, behavioral science, and community and belonging in order to positively affect key goals and outcomes; An understanding of the factors impacting student retention, satisfaction, flourishing, and graduation, and the ability to use that understanding to recommend, develop, implement and assess practical interventions and process improvements are essential to success in this role; Proven ability to see projects through the ideation - execution - assessment cycle; Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences including students and their families, alumni, advisors, faculty and other senior leadership/ administrators. Detail oriented and able to see how different functional areas need to cooperate and communicate.
Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $120,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
