Job Description:
The Director of Total Rewards will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development, implementation, and management of the RaceTrac’s total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and rewards & recognition. This leadership role will focus on ensuring that the RaceTrac’s compensation and benefits offerings are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the RaceTrac’s business objectives. The Director will also lead the design and execution of employee rewards and recognition initiatives, fostering a culture of appreciation and engagement throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
Compensation Strategy and Management:
Develop, implement, and oversee the RaceTrac’s compensation philosophy and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.Manage salary structure and job evaluation processes to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.Lead the administration of base pay, incentive, and bonus programs, ensuring that compensation practices are competitive, fair, and compliant with legal regulations.Analyze compensation data and trends to ensure market competitiveness, providing recommendations for adjustments as necessary.Benefits Program Oversight:
Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and other voluntary benefits.Evaluate and manage relationships with external benefit vendors to ensure cost-effective solutions and quality services for employees.Ensure that benefits offerings are competitive, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and meet the needs of a diverse workforce.Analyze benefit program performance and employee satisfaction, making recommendations for enhancements and changes based on data and feedback.Lead the 401(k) committee quarterly meetings and participate as a voting member of the committee.Rewards and Recognition:
Design and lead company-wide rewards and recognition programs that celebrate employee achievements, milestones, and contributions, reinforcing a positive work culture.Develop and implement both formal and informal recognition programs that are aligned with company values, boosting employee morale and engagement.Provide guidance on recognition strategy for leaders and managers across the organization, helping them effectively acknowledge and appreciate their teams.Measure the effectiveness of recognition programs and make adjustments to ensure they remain impactful and relevant.Total Rewards Communication:
Ensure effective communication of compensation, benefits, and rewards programs to employees through clear, engaging, and accessible messaging.Lead the development of employee education programs and resources, helping employees understand the full value of their total rewards package.Work closely with HR partners to ensure seamless communication across the organization, particularly during open enrollment periods, compensation reviews, and recognition events.Compliance and Governance:
Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to compensation and benefits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.Ensure all total rewards programs and policies comply with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and other relevant legal requirements.Provide guidance and support to HR teams and business leaders on issues related to compensation, benefits, and recognition.Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead and mentor a team of total rewards professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.Partner with senior leadership and HR business partners to understand organizational priorities and ensure total rewards strategies align with business needs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, legal, talent acquisition) to ensure alignment on compensation and benefits strategies and goals.Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize compensation and benefits data to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on pay structure adjustments, market trends, and employee needs.Oversee the development of reports and dashboards to track the effectiveness of total rewards programs and guide data-driven decision-making.Conduct regular compensation audits and analyses to ensure internal equity and competitiveness within the market.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; a Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CCP, CEBS, GRP) is a plus.8+ years of experience in total rewards, compensation, benefits, or HR leadership, with at least 5 years in a management or director-level role.Strong knowledge of compensation structures, benefits programs, and rewards & recognition best practices.Experience managing and administering complex compensation and benefits programs across diverse employee populations.Expertise in conducting market analyses, using data to drive decision-making, and building data-driven compensation strategies.Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively explain complex total rewards concepts to employees at all levels.Strong understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment with RaceTrac without regard to their race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by local, state, or federal laws, rules, or regulations.
