POSITION SUMMARY

Provides the lowest landed cost for global end-to-end product flow through strategic direction and cross functional collaboration. Leads company transportation optimization shared services as part of the network optimization team. Through experience, expertise, modeling, analytics, and toolsets identifies and enables routing efficiencies from manufacturer through to customers. Defines and establishes solutions to support long-term objectives and ensures systems, tools, and processes necessary to meet business objectives and customer expectations for the future.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

As part of the “always on network optimization” shared service team, responsible for the strategic direction of transportation optimization, focused on the development of transportation models and analytics that support significant improvements in financial performance.  Drives the continuous improvement of all transportation processes, with an emphasis on improving transportation efficiency while reducing cost and waste. Actively manages initiatives, programs, and processes that support a culture of continuous improvement in the supply chain across multiple business units. Is the company transportation global routing optimization subject matter expert and they have the industry knowledge and skill set to be an invaluable partner. Leverages previous experience understanding, modeling, and driving material transportation cost efficiencies with diverse businesses that are large, complex, and global transportation networks. This includes a full multimodal spectrum including B2B and B2C supply chains. Partners with cross-functional teams such as inventory planning, DC Operations, commercial, manufacturing, and global transportation to develop and realize improved routing results, including performance and reduction in overall freight expense. Determine transportation optimization software and tool requirements by working with supply chain operational team, internal business units, clients and customers; understand and support the overall long-term vision for the organization.   Lead transportation network optimization service provider RFPs resulting in provider selection, analysis, and associated implementation for systems and tools. Creates and owns transportation optimization KPIs and metrics that provides baselines to current state, identifies areas for improvement, and demonstrates the attainment of optimization initiatives Supports global logistics footprint and transportation teams in obtainment of overall financial goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree required (Logistics or Supply Chain Management concentration preferred).MBA or Master’s degree, preferred.Minimum, seven (10) years of experience in transportation and supply chain management, required.Minimum, three (3) years of experience leading network transportation optimization analysis and initiatives, required.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Experience using and/or implementing transportation modeling and routing system.Excellent in-depth understanding of transportation and logistics including an expert level of knowledge about transportation (private fleet and 3rd party carrier).Ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of global cultural nuances, legal, regulatory and business issuesProven ability to analyze data and draw conclusions and make recommendations to senior leadership based on that analysisProven leadership, problem-solving and decision-making ability coupled with strong management skillsVery strong financial analysis and management skillsVery strong planning and organizational skillsStrong team building and interpersonal skillsAbility to develop action plans and deliver to completion both through individual action and through directing the work of othersDemonstrated ability to successfully manage work and a team through changing environment(s)Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects (programs) simultaneouslyDemonstrated success in working in a matrix environment and driving enterprise projects to completion while improving operational resultsExceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate complex issues and programs to all levels of the organization
