Director, US Logistics Operations

Since its founding in 1937, Krispy Kreme’s focus has remained the same - making fresh doughnuts using our founder’s original recipe. The brand’s iconic Hot Light lets consumers know when doughnuts are being made in the shop so they can stop in and enjoy them hot, right off the line.  

 

The Director, US Logistics Operations will lead our US Field Operations team on a transformation journey as we double our distribution over the next two years and transition to fully outsourced logistics operation.  Leading a large, field-based organization, they will ensure seamless daily delivery of fresh doughnuts across our expanding network. This role will be responsible for nearly $300 million in third-party logistics (3PL) contracts, driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing the logistics network in partnership with internal teams, and delivering an exceptional experience for our customers.  The ideal candidate will have strong logistics leadership experience, 3PL management, project management, and a passion for driving transformation. 

 

A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: 

Inspire and manage a large, field-based team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and excellence.   Immediately lead a multi-year transformation from in-sourced to outsourced logistics.  Serve as the overall program lead, facilitating a staggered roll-out across multiple partners, managing risk and holding cross-functional teams accountable for execution. Manage and monitor performance of multiple 3PL providers to ensure high standards of service, quality, and cost-efficiency.  Communicate the performance metrics to the organization on a regular basis.  Lead quarterly business reviews with each 3PL partner.   Drive all key metrics associated with Logistics P&L.  Key metrics include cost per stop, route compliance, cost reduction, shrink and delivery efficiency. Accountable for year-over-year cost savings initiatives.  Collaborate with 3PLs to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements across the network. Build strong connections with customers and internal sales partners, ensuring delivery performance aligns with their needs.   Partner with the internal network design team to develop, refine and implement logistics initiatives that support growth goals. 

 

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:  

A minimum of 12 years experience in logistics and supply chain management, directing large field-based organizations. Experience in DSD and/or with large multi-stop delivery routes Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or similar field
