We have the following exciting opportunity as a remote position: **Director, US Medical Affairs – COVID-19 Strategy** We are looking for a highly motivated Medical Affairs Director who is passionate about patient-centric care related to Covid-19 treatment. The **Director, USMA – COVID-19 Strateg** y, will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of medical strategies related to COVID-19, as well as select emerging virus infections. This role will focus on shaping medical and scientific content, driving alignment on disease state education, and ensuring that treatment guidelines are aligned with the latest evidence. The role will directly support healthcare providers (HCPs), researchers, and virtual engagement platforms to provide scientific insights and enhance the understanding of COVID-19 treatment and management. Additionally, this role will collaborate with commercial teams to ensure that digital engagement strategies are aligned with medical objectives and needs. The candidate must be a self-starter with a proven track record of success in prior roles. They will play a critical and exciting role in helping the US Medical Affairs organization support COVID-19 treatment therapies and future pipeline products in emerging viruses. This position will report to the USMA COVID- 19 Strategy Sr Director Lead and will work directly with the US and Global teams, as well as cross-functionally with other COVID-19 internal stakeholders. **Essential Duties and Job Functions** + **Strategic Medical Support** + Support the development and execution of US medical strategy related to COVID-19 disease state education and treatment guidelines. + Provide cross-functional input and scientific support to internal stakeholders, including medical, commercial, and market access teams, to ensure the alignment of COVID-19 content across all channels. + Support the creation of tailored scientific content for healthcare providers (HCPs) , ensuring that treatment practices, guidelines and recommendations reflect the latest evidence and regulatory updates. + **Digital Engagement and Commercial Support** + Leverage digital platforms to enhance engagement with healthcare providers (HCPs) and other stakeholders on COVID-19-related topics, delivering high-impact, evidence-based medical education and ensuring content is scientifically rigorous and aligned with key medical strategies. + Support the development and delivery of virtual scientific discussions, webinars, and online medical education programs for HCPs and IDNs. + **Cross-Functional Collaboration** + Work in partnership with the commercial, regulatory, and medical affairs teams to ensure the seamless integration of medical insights into external engagement strategies. + Ensure that key medical insights are communicated effectively to both internal and external stakeholders, translating complex scientific data into actionable information for HCPs and IDNs. + Collaborate with other regions and global medical affairs teams to ensure alignment on key COVID-19 medical strategies. + **Scientific Expertise & Thought Leadership** + Stay abreast of the latest COVID-19 research, treatment guidelines, and relevant regulatory updates to ensure content and engagement strategies remain cutting-edge. + Represent the company in external medical forums and engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to gather insights and inform strategy. + **Compliance & Best Practices** + Ensure all medical content and virtual engagement activities are compliant with Gilead’s regulatory, legal, and company standards. + Maintain high standards for scientific integrity and quality assurance in all deliverables. **Knowledge, Experience and Skills** + MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD, PhD or other advanced healthcare or life science degrees + Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on infectious diseases, vaccines, or COVID-19 related therapeutic areas. + Strong understanding of the healthcare landscape in the US, including IDNs, HCPs, payers, and policy makers. + Strong scientific and medical writing skills with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. + Ability to analyze complex scientific data and translate it into clear, actionable insights. + Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. + A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a cross-functional team. **Minimum Qualifications** + 12 years with Bachelors degree, 10 with Masters and 8 with PhD/PharmaD **Travel Requirements** : + Occasional travel may be required for in-person meetings, conferences, and team collaboration. The salary range for this position is: $221,000.00 - $286,000.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
