Market Access is a strategic pillar within Melinta; ensuring the company’s products are valued and accessible to patients. This role will collaborate with Sales, Medical and the broader Market Access team to manage key targeted regional health system and IDNs. This individual must exhibit exceptional account management skills, solid leadership abilities and have knowledge and experience with Acute Care, LTACH and HOPD segments of IDN and health systems. A key component of success in this role is the ability to establish the clinical and economic value of the portfolio for health systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leverage expert understanding of the health system network dynamics to develop strategic business plans for targeted systemsIncrease formulary, protocol and EHR adoption within targeted health care systemsCoordinate account management planning and execution activities with sales leadershipIdentify business opportunities and development of actionable plans to pull through business associated with favorable formulary policyIdentify and address site of care gaps. (National and/or large regional home infusion, free standing infusion centers)

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; advance degree preferredMinimum 7 years of successful Market Access and account management experience in the hospital marketMinimum 2 years of experience calling on IDN/GPO/Home Infusion/Specialty Pharmacy corporate account customersExperience gaining new, branded product acceptance within health systems and IDNs and driving use through protocol and order set development requiredExperience with academic medical center account management preferredExecutive presence and a history of interfacing with high level system executives (CEO, COO, CMO, and Pharmacy Directors), and building advocacy for appropriate product access and use

Working Environment

Good driving recordAbility to drive during the daytime and nighttimeAbility to travel overnight for 3-4 nights per week (drive or fly); up to 75% travel
