Job Description SummaryGE Vernova wants to build on our reputation as an industry leader in innovation for the energy transition, and to bring the top innovations – whether they are sourced internally or not – to our customers. Venturing represents a way to leverage the startup community to simultaneously help startups grow and scale while bringing that critical innovation to our customers. Venturing is new to GE Vernova and this position represents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of venturing at the company.

The Director, Ventures will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, executing venturing deals of all kinds. These may include minority investments and may also include commercial or technical partnerships between the startups and the company. S/he will also be responsible for management of the venturing portfolio for GE Vernova as a whole.

Essential Responsibilities:

Source, structure and lead venture partnership executionTrack and manage startup equity portfolio across GE VernovaMaintain and cultivate relationships with venture partners to obtain up-to-date market intelligenceBuild GE Vernova process for partnering with external startups and align across businessesBachelor's Degree.Minimum 7 years of professional experience.Minimum 5 years of deal-making experienceVenturing experienceExpertise negotiating and closing deals with startups and other VCsProven ability to identify technology and team growth potential

MBA PreferredBoard experience preferredExperience working both in a large, matrixed organizationExperience in working in the energy sectorEntrepreneurial nature with a passion for bringing technology to marketExpertise advising startups and managing a startup portfolioStrong communication, influencing and negotiation skills, ability to operate and communicate at senior business levelsStrong external energy VC networkExperience in organizational transformation and the willingness and ability to drive cultural change that brings lasting, meaningful value to GE VernovaStrong team player with ability to build relationships quicklyStrong project management skills
