Director, VWR Brand Marketing

Owner of VWR branded (private label) product brand and accountable for maximizing its positioning in the end markets we serve. The successful candidate is responsible for developing and executing global brand positioning strategies and comprehensive marketing plans to drive a profitable proprietary mix shift globally, enhancing the brand’s value and market presence. 

What we’re looking for:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, marketing, business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)   Experience: 8-10 years of experience in research science, scientific sales, marketing, or scientific product management Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and marketing excellence while prioritizing talent development and succession planning. Demonstrated experience in proprietary brand management, solution selling and positioning, account-based marketing, product portfolio management, sales programming and enablement Global Perspective: Experience working in a global environment, with an understanding of diverse markets and cultures 

Who you are:

Deep understanding of branding principles, brand management, and marketing strategy development. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market data, customer insights, and performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders. Project management skills to plan, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns and initiatives on time and within budget. Collaboration and teamwork abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including commercial teams, portfolio management, and marketing operations. Creativity and innovation to develop unique and compelling marketing strategies and campaigns that resonate with target audiences and drive brand awareness and preference. Adaptability and flexibility to navigate a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

How you will thrive and create an impact:

Financial Accountability: Own the financial performance of VWR-branded consumables and Equipment & Instruments (E&I) globally, ensuring profitability through effective marketing investments and strategic portfolio management. Brand Strategy Ownership: Own the global VWR brand positioning strategy, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives and market needs. Drive a consistent and compelling brand identity across all regions and channels. Marketing Plan Development & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to promote the VWR brand, including product portfolio strategies, roadmaps, and pricing, designed to meet global brand positioning goals. Market Insights & Competitive Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging methodologies, integrating innovations into marketing practices to continuously strengthen the VWR brand's market presence. Portfolio Optimization: Leverage customer, market, and portfolio analysis to optimize the VWR brand portfolio, capturing share of wallet within AVTRs customer base Campaign Execution & Multi-Channel Strategy: Work with marketing operations to plan and execute campaigns across digital, print, events, and tradeshows, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and maximum audience engagement. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, commercial teams, and marketing operations to ensure alignment of VWR brand initiatives with business objectives, including revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and sales enablement. Commercial Team Enablement: Provide sales programming and customer targeting strategies to commercial teams to maximize VWR branded product sales within target portfolio categories.
