Director, Youth Services and Special Projects
Overview Oversees a department and programs within that department and supervises, directs and monitors assigned staff. Coordinates activities of the department and accomplishes the complex and varied functions of the department. Accountable for achieving departmental planning and operational goals and objectives and for furthering Cherokee Nation goals and objectives within general policy guidelines. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in Social Work, Education, or related field; no substitutions. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT At least five years expereience in a related field. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Payroll systems, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verfied through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Creative thinker with a history of applying innovation in programming. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Must be organized, with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage programs to a diverse population. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
