Job Description Summary:
The Location-Based Experiences Licensing Director will be responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of licensing programs that bring The Coca-Cola Company's intellectual properties, characters and stories to life through immersive, location-based entertainment experiences and retail concepts. This role will involve identifying and securing high value licensing opportunities, negotiating complex deals, managing relationships and supporting execution with partners globally. The Director will ensure that all location-based projects, such as themed attractions, interactive exhibitions, themed cafes and branded events, uphold the company’s brand standards and drive significant business growth. This position requires a forward-thinking leader who can navigate the complexities of the industry and leverage market trends to deliver innovative and profitable entertainment experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement comprehensive licensing strategies to expand The Coca-Cola Company’s intellectual properties into immersive, location-based entertainment experiences.Establish long-term goals and KPIs to measure success.Partnership Management:
Build and manage strong relationships with licensees to oversee the development and implementation of location-based projects from concept through to completion, ensuring quality control and brand integrity. Act as the main point of contact, ensuring clear communication and alignment on objectives and strategies.Negotiation:
Lead and manage the negotiation process for complex, multi-million-dollar licensing agreements.Ensure favorable terms that align with corporate goals and legal compliance.Market Research & Analysis:
Conduct thorough market analysis and competitor research to identify emerging trends, new opportunities, prospective partners and potential risks.Use insights to drive strategic decision-making.Financial Management:
Monitor and manage licensing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.Work with finance teams to ensure projects are financially viable and achieve targeted ROI. Regularly assess the performance of licensed experiences through metrics such as ticket sales, customer feedback, and revenue generation.Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, including brand, marketing, design, legal, product development, and finance, to support and enhance licensing initiatives.Ensure all projects are aligned with overall business objectives.Global Reach:
Strategize and manage international partnerships and business deals, leveraging global market insights to expand the footprint of location-based experiences.Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all licensing activities comply with brand guidelines, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with licensing agreements.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree or equivalent experience.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in licensing, business development, or related roles within the entertainment, hospitality, or attractions industry. At least 3 years of direct experience in leading location-based experiences is required.Proven track record of successful agreement negotiations and partnerships.Strong understanding of intellectual property management, contract law, and brand enforcement.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans.Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Passion for innovation in immersive entertainment and a deep understanding of industry dynamics.Skills:
