Director – Aircraft Technical Data

Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Technical Data Management and Maintenance Program change management teams. Develop and drive the strategy for technical support document content creation and deployment, including authoring tools, quality systems and delivery applications and libraries. Own the business strategy, product vision, product roadmap prioritization and partnership with the DT team for technology solutions that support technical data.

Leads technical data management team responsible for content creation, processing, assembly all Tech Ops policies procedures manuals to directly support the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of the FleetLeads strategy development and implementation of Technical Data delivery and distribution processes and tools, partnering with Digital Technology on the product roadmap and strategy, including change management throughout the organizationEngages with internal stakeholders and industry groups to understand existing policies with respect to technical data management and delivery and leads changes to support United’s long term business objectives Develops and coaches employees both inside and outside of organization with the goal of developing a stable talent base and ensuring organization knowledge retention

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelors degreeAerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, Technical Communications, or related field7 years of aviation technical data experience including 3 years leading people at Sr. Manager levelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to foster collaboration between organization groupsHigh attention to detailFamiliar with regulatory requirements related to technical data and manualsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Masters degree5 year Experience with large scale content management, including legacy and modern content authoring and management systems5 years of experience with configuration management organizations5 years or experience with airline or aircraft digital product management and implementationUnderstanding of mechanical drawings and bill of materialsProficient in configuration management and technical data management tools (e.g., CAD, PDM, S1000D)Knowledge of lean principles and process improvement methodologiesExperience with partnering with DT organization to implement technical data and/or maintenance program tools
