Director – Technology Consultant
Job Description:

The Role

The Director, Technology and Operations Consulting is responsible for engaging and supporting large, complex intermediary clients and prospects across all segments in collaboration with the Sales and Client Relationship Groups. You will work with business partners to effectively and impactfully craft the optimal technology solutions and resources that empower the clients to achieve their goals.  You should be proficient in the technology needs of large, enterprise wealth management firms, current trends and the Fintech ecosystem. You and the team are relied upon subject matters expert for Fidelity Institutional prospects, clients, Sales, and Relationship Management associates, as well as other internal and external business partners.  You will engage with clients and prospects to ensure the awareness and adoption of relevant technology solutions that help them achieve their business growth, productivity, and client satisfaction goals. You will play a key role in both communicating the Fidelity product and technology solutions vision and roadmap, as well as driving feedback from clients, prospects, competition and the broader industry to the broader Fidelity Institutional domains and strategy groups.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Results-oriented collaborator and consultant with a passion for FinTech and a deep understanding of the wealth management industry, competitive landscape and broader industry trends

Experience supporting large, complex, enterprise intermediary clients and an ability to understand and assess customers’ needs, operational workflows, scoping the technology solution with collaboration from key business partners and recommending solutions that optimize value for the prospect/client and for Fidelity.

Excels at establishing relationships and networks; influences peers, stakeholders, and senior leaders to achieve outcomes with a focus on continuous learning.

Strategic problem solver, proven execution, data based and analytical approach to solving problems.

Consistent track record to manage through influence and serve as trusted business advisor to leaders in a matrixed organization.

10+ years in wealth management, FinTech or related industry experience

BS/BA degree required; MBA preferred.

Series 7 required (pass within 90 days)

You have a passion for engaging with firms (both clients and prospects), gaining insight into opportunities and challenges, developing and delivering strategies to grow, scale and improve client relationships

You are collaborative, influential and effective in connecting with  leadership and field associates (Sales and Relationship Management), uncovering prospect and client opportunities to engage, driving assets, revenue and deepening relationships.

You have an understanding of Fidelity and 3rd party solutions for firms, while having deep insight into selection, implementation, configuration and optimization

You have excellent presentation skills and can represent Fidelity at client & industry conferences as well as effectively present the Fidelity Wealthscape platform to illustrate key capabilities and integrations

You are analytical and an outstanding listener who is able to discern client concerns and provide key insights to address client and prospect needs and help advise internal partners’  product vision and roadmap.

You can Play a key role in helping regional field associates understand the platform roadmap and strategies to execute against client and prospect opportunities.

You work well independently, yet are a dedicated team player – possessing strong collaboration and influencing skills, while continuously developing yourself and enhancing teammates’ capabilities

You can adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment, executing on multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and consistently delivering strong results

30% travel expected

Fidelity Institutional provides a comprehensive clearing and custody platform, technology solutions and integrations, brokerage, investment and reporting services, trading capabilities, and practice management and consulting to registered investment advisors, including strategic acquirers and professional asset managers, retirement recordkeepers, broker-dealer firms, banks, insurance companies, family offices wealthy families

The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$169,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
