Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector is seeking to hire a Director 1 to lead the Support Equipment and Major Maintenance Vehicle teams. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

What You Will Get To Do:

The selected candidate will manage teams responsible for the design, development, and delivery of operational support equipment, major and minor maintenance vehicles, and the design and development of depot level support equipment for the Sentinel EMD program.  The candidate will be responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical execution for the scope of work aligned to their team.

The selected candidate will review status of work products and budgets; enforce EVMS principles; manage schedule and status reports on the health and status of assigned projects; and identify risks and opportunities and coordinate with applicable project management and IPTs to address, mitigate and retire risks.  The individual will report to the Sentinel Segment Lead as the Lead for Support Equipment and Major Maintenance Vehicles.

Specific work scope includes but is not limited to:  
 

Assisting the Segment Lead and acting as the primary lead for all Support Equipment and Major Maintenance Vehicle activitiesMeasuring and reporting program performance through development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM)Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation, and realizationStrong technical leadership through the identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirementsDevelopment and adherence to master plans and schedulesEnsuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope and manages change through control board activitiesInterfacing with major program suppliers to meet program objectives and maintaining strong partnershipsDelivering presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholdersProgram execution staffing in coordination with the hiring team; workload management and coordination with functional homeroom

These positions will have a standard work schedule of 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industriesMust have 5 years in a formal management/leadership role of team or departmentActive Top Secret clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading engineering development of Support Systems, including Support Equipment and/or Major Maintenance Vehicles6 years of engineering management / technical leadership experiencePrior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and DoD leadership personnelDemonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goalExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to effectively work within a team environmentExperience on ICBM or related programsActive DoD TS/SCI clearance and applicable SAP accesses

Salary Range: $181,000.00 - $271,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
