Job Overview:

The Director, Children s Health Service Line Program Operations is an integral part of the service line leadership team providing operational and administrative support to strategic Service Line initiatives. This role oversees the implementation of new programs and interventions. The Director is also responsible for ensuring the long-term sustainability, effectiveness and performance of these initiatives by providing ongoing support to key stakeholders, overseeing & facilitating governance structures (e.g. oversight committees, forums), and developing & managing tools such as dashboards and program report-out templates to monitor performance on key goals & metrics. Focus areas will include USNWR process and points optimization, the development and oversight of infrastructure to integrate quality & safety, academics & research, access, and finance, across the Service Line; and the creation of nationally recognized programs that deliver safe, evidence based, patient-centered, and efficient care.

Required:

Bachelor Degree in healthcare administration, finance, or related fieldMaster degree preferredMinimum 5 years progressive experience in managing and leading clinical programs. Knowledge and experience performing financial management, strategic planning and implementation, business/program development, process improvement, outcomes measurement, reporting, and human resource management functions.Financial and operational analytical skills required, including profit and loss, reimbursement analysis, business trends and process analysis, and identification of system weaknesses.A proven ability to build consensus and motivate teams of diverse, multidisciplinary, and multi-departmental stakeholders.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively at all levels of a complex organization.Ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner that is comprehensible to a wide range of stakeholdersAbility to utilize metrics and technology in a way that drives excellence, supports operations and facilitates integration across a historically disparate organization. Essential Functions:

At the direction of the senior leadership team in the Children s Health Service line, implements new programs and streamlines existing initiatives, as outlined in the hospital and children s health service line strategic plan(s). Supports and facilitates service line level governance forums and committees by liaising between Service Line leadership team and relevant clinical and operational stakeholders to finalize and ensure alignment on agendas, prepare and distribute materials. Partners with clinical and operational stakeholders to provide organizational and administrative support to the roll out & integration of new nationally recognized registries and databases, as well as the achievement of certifications (American College of Surgeons). Identifies and evaluates gaps in existing clinical and operational programs, and helps research and establish proposals that present solutions to those gaps by leveraging internal and external sources; leads interventions to address operational issues across service line level programs across the service line and in hospital and office-based settings. Develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPI) in quality, access, patient satisfaction, growth, productivity, academics and finance to support and measure the productivity and effectiveness of service line divisions and programs. Achieves KPI targets and holds teams accountable for doing so.Develops financial plans for new programs and providers. Develops and monitors annual budgets and acts to achieve productivity and financial targets. Identifies opportunities for revenue enhancement and expense control. Provides administrative leadership to the development and analysis of new models of care and their implementation.Tracks metrics leading to achievement of program recognition through Joint Commission, American College of Surgeons and other accreditations and ranking in US News and World Report Best Children s Hospitals survey.Actively engages staff. Provides mentorship and personal development opportunities. Establishes and maintains effective communication relationships with all internal and external service line stakeholders. Promotes and builds strong relationships with physicians throughout the organization and the community.
