Director Accounts Receivable

C.H. Robinson is currently seeking a Director of Accounts Receivable to lead a large team in the Credit, Collections, and Cash Application functions.  In this position you will partner with the business, external customers, finance stakeholders, and vendors to develop and execute the global finance operations strategy.  You will be responsible for utilizing Lean methodology to drive process improvements, manage daily operations, and deliver comprehensive reporting and analytics. In addition, you will plan and measure A/R activities, ensuring efficient processes, and managing team performance and financial oversight. Critical to this position will be your ability to set strategy aligned with the C.H. Robinson operating model and measure progress against key metrics, while identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Responsibilities:Lead North America Accounts Receivable, including Collections, Credit, and Cash Application teamsFacilitates regular operating scorecard reviews and identifies opportunities for problem solving (caused or created) and coaching others to get KPIs on track, delivering growth for the businessSupports business partners in regular business reviews, leveraging internal analytics and financial intelligence to provide economic insights, understand trends in data to uncover new opportunities for growth, increase sales, and retain and grow the businessCoaches and mentor's teams to strengthen their lean skillset, develop effective improvement strategies, and create and manage meaningful metrics Utilizes the Socratic method to encourage critical thinking by asking probing questions to uncover the "why" behind actions and outcomes Builds financial acumen within the team and with our business partners through training, communication, and improved processesGuides and partners with other departments to provide valuable data and insights to improve the overall health of our business and improve upstream and downstream processesIdentify needs for new technology and analytical tools; lead change management efforts surrounding these enhancements.Ensure the application of a risk-based approach to managing customer credit linesPartner with finance colleagues, business leaders and customers on credit and delinquency issuesEnsure that invoicing practices are accurate and cash collection expectations are metGuides the team in identifying upstream KPIs to adopt a more proactive, forward-looking approach to performance management Manages annual merit and equity programs for assigned team to align compensation with performance results Encourages employee feedback through formal and informal channels, taking action on feedback to drive a trusting culture of open two-way communication, inclusivity and continuous improvement Manages and drives budget requirements by ensuring business goals are met with greatest efficiency 

Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Minimum 8 years of Financial Reporting, Operations and/or Finance related experience Minimum 4 years of leading and managing teams Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certification or training or relevant experienceCPA, CCE or other accounting and credit-related certifications Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills Strong ability to partner, consult and influence multiple stakeholder groups Builds strong relationships with internal and external clients and business partners across international regions and cross functional company teams Ability to effectively implement changes in a large, global organization Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills Ability to motivate and encourage change, able to get positive results in a very large, dispersed organizationValues a diverse and inclusive work environment

Compensation Range

$118,000.00 - $196,400.00
