Director Agri-Business Accounting

Primary Purpose

This position will be focused on ensuring the accuracy of financial information to safeguard the assets of the company, will be responsible for managing and developing a team and will set forth a strategy to improve processes and department efficiency. Help develop and grow the business by partnering with the management team of assigned business unit(s).

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure accuracy of financial statements and establish controls to safeguard the assets of the company. Maintain internal controls for the assigned business unit(s) and oversee balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and reporting to ensure that the business unit(s) follow established corporate and regulatory standards. Work closely with management to identify opportunities to improve profitability, support annual budget and monthly projection processes and special projects to improve business processes and department efficiency. Review/Complete ad-hoc analyses to support the business, provide profit and loss (P&L) reporting, sales analyses and return on investment (ROI) reporting. Assist business unit leaders to manage the processes for long- and short-term financial planning (key balance sheet metrics and full income statements) for assigned business unit(s) to provide analytical insights and increase returns. Lead, manage and motivate, engage and develop the accounting staff to ensure accounting requirements, controls and services are provided in an accurate, timely and cost-effective manner. Guide training and development of the department to increase competency and commitment. Lead, promote and maintain a safe and secure work environment for associates, following Mountaire policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 10 - 15 year's poultry experience preferred Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification desired but not required. Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
