Director Asset Management Renewables (Remote/Hybrid)

Summary

The Director, Asset Management position will supervise the asset management team tasked with assisting the Owner with all aspects of the business and operational issues associated with an assigned portfolio.  Maintain primary responsibility for several projects, as well as oversee the day-to-day operations of other facilities in the portfolio.

Primary Duties

Provide guidance to the Asset Manager(s) of the different facilities in the portfolio to ensure the projects are operating safely, achieving regulatory compliance, and striving to maximize economic benefit for the Facility Owner. Supervise asset management team to assist Owner, as requested, with the oversight of the Operations and Maintenance Agreements. Supervise asset management team to assist Owner, as requested, with any Power Purchase Agreements and/or offtake agreements to maximize project/portfolio economics. Supervise asset management team to assist Owner, as requested, with facility issues and business relationships. Supervise asset management team to assist Owner, as requested, with development of comprehensive business plans and related tasks. Develop strategies to ensure operations are in accordance with business plans. Supervise asset management team to assist Owner, as requested, to develop or oversee financial models of the projects. Provide training and expertise/subject guidance to the asset management staff, including new employee orientation. Support new business opportunities to increase the project/portfolio economics. Support the Vice President, Renewables Asset Management with internal reporting and requests for information. Perform other duties as requested focused on maximizing the economic benefit for the Owner, PurEnergy, and NAES.

Working Relationships

This role reports to the VP of Solar AO&M. Asset managers and asset management specialist will report to the Director, Asset Management.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, financial, and/or technical renewable asset operation or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a related industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a work-related industry with strong demonstrated technical, organizational, and managerial capability. A minimum of 8+ years’ experience of asset management, technical, and O&M operations solar and/or other renewable operating assets. Exceptional leadership experience with the ability to give presentations to the Owner. Experience managing a team of at least 5-10 employees in renewable energy or similar industry

Specific Skills and Knowledge

Ability to work effectively with line managers and senior level management. Ability to maintain a strong successful relationship between Owner, Operator and PEMS. Solid and proven business skills managing Solar assets. Ability to understand, interpret and articulate power plant contracts and agreements. Ability to understand, interpret and articulate profit and loss projections and targets. Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.

Compensation

The initial compensation will range from $105,000 to $141,000 based on experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Normal works hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional time may be required during heavy workloads or to meet deadlines. Ability to sit for long periods of time, and to handle long periods of screen time. Ability to travel as needed.
