**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for a **Director - Aviation Launch Programs** in our **Hughes Network Systems division.** This position plays a pivotal role in leading critical programs in the aviation industry and is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and launch of solutions for Hughes.

This position will be located in either **Germantown, MD or Lisle, IL.**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Lead a portfolio of highly complex programs for large aviation customers from concept to delivery.
+ Mentor and lead a team of program managers to execute development and certification projects.
+ Lead the overall relationship with airline customer executives and airframe manufacturers through the development and launch phase of the product lifecycle.
+ Create and deliver executive presentations and reports highlighting portfolio status, schedule and key risks.
+ Manage strong relationships with vendors, partners, and key stakeholders.
+ Work with the leadership team to identify and successfully execute key strategic initiatives within the aviation organization.
+ Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to establish best practices within the program organization.
+ Anticipate and proactively address programmatic, technical, and implementation issues that arise during project development.
+ Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring cost control and resource allocation.
**Basic Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, business administration, or a related field.
+ 10+ years of relevant work experience.
+ Prior experience of FAA/EASA STC processes.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master’s degree in engineering, aerospace, business administration, or a related field.
+ Strong knowledge of all phases of the aviation product lifecycle, including design, development, testing, certification, production, maintenance and support.
+ Prior experience with linefit and retrofit programs in the in-flight connectivity industry.
+ Ability to influence a variety of stakeholders at all levels of leadership to establish concurrence.
+ Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
