The Position
The Director - Business Finance is the overall responsible business partner to the non-commercial ET areas at NNI. The Director leads a team of business partners for the areas through clear direction setting, coordination of priorities, support, and challenge in line with company strategy. Further, the role is overall responsible for NNI's consolidated cost management, which happens in close dialogue with commercial and non-commercial stakeholders to ensure effective allocation of resources.
The Director and team of Business Partners act as a Center of Excellence for cost management and consolidation, directing the strategic resource allocation, business planning process, financial analysis, reporting and forecasting for all areas in NNI.
This Director is leading the forecast and close processes with regards to NNI's overall costs, coordinating and overseeing all necessary financial reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis. The Director interacts closely with senior leadership on strategic matters to ensure clear communication of results and recommendations for action. The Director independently drives processes and decision making.
The Director must support creating an engaging work culture and to maintain a healthy work environment in the team including development of employees. The Director is accountable for participating and taking a leading role in multiple cross functional relationships (internal and external) and initiatives including leading key cross-functional projects/processes to support the business such as the Annual Budget Process and Business Planning Process.
Relationships
This position reports to the Sr Director of NNI Business Finance. The position is required to regularly present to and interact with ET or LT level management of multiple functions. This position manages a team of professional level employees. Further, the position is responsible for the Business Finance team in GBS.
Essential Functions
+ Overall responsible for the financial management and business partnering for non-commercial ET areas through team of business partners. This includes ownership of P&L management and strategic resource allocation, on-going operations/reporting and for strategic projects and changes
+ Overall responsible for the cost consolidation, and follow-up on realization, across NNI including close alignment, challenge and support of input from both commercial and non-commercial areas to ensure solid financial analysis and forecasts at all times to drive evidence-based decision making
+ Routinely communicates on overall financial performance of NNI with focus on linking sales and costs, the overall story and key opportunities and challenges. The communication responsibility goes across NNI and happens in close coordination with all areas of the business focusing on performance trends and variations using appropriate metrics. Brings recommendations, operational and strategic implications to leaders across NNI as well as NNI ET level and HQ
+ Sets direction and leads strategic processes:
+ The NNI AB process by managing the overall process and deliverables to enable consolidation of the NNI costs and investments. Responsible for the Enterprise Resource Planning process to ensure a coherent investment story in line with enterprise strategy. Partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to understand and incorporate demand trends, business risks and opportunities into the overall story
+ The Business Planning Process by ensuring clear timeline and close coordination between areas to enable a clear link from enterprise strategy to tactical plans to organizational implications to resource allocation to budget
+ The Director’s team serve as business consultants for NNI leadership teams and drives key projects and process improvements on behalf NNI Finance & Supply Chain related to financial performance, risks and opportunities for better short- and long-term business performance. Further, the Director’s team leads projects within business finance focusing of process improvements, standardization and digitalization
+ Drives Operational Effectiveness and Efficiency in relation to own and NNI wide business processes. Continuously evaluate opportunities to optimize in order to deliver the results in the most effective way. Ensures close cross-functional collaboration, and alignment of priorities, within NNI and towards the broader NN organization including IO and HQ to ensure use of best practices for financial management, analysis and forecasting
+ Sets direction, guides and develops the team members to support ET and LT areas with relevant financial analysis, trends and recommendations. A key part of this entails supporting the organization in the right allocation of resources to support the enterprise strategy and growth – not only during AB process but also on an on-going basis
+ Together with the Business Finance LT, supports the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that will ensure a healthy and engaging work environment for the overall NNI Business Finance team

Development Of People
Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree required - preferably within Finance, Business Administration. Masters or other relevant degree preferred
+ At least 10 years of pharmaceutical / healthcare experience - preferably most in financial management, reporting and business partnering
+ At least 3 years of supervisory or project management experience required
+ Experience from the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage
+ Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders across the organization also at very senior levels. Must be able to understand and define stakeholder needs and translate these needs into clear actions by also utilizing strong understanding of the business
+ Strong focus on process management, optimization, and structured workflows with high level of proactivity, energy, and ability to drive and complete projects. Must utilize time effectively and set priorities to manage multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines
+ Ambitious mindset with a continuous improvement approach and a desire to simplify the way we operate and generate new ideas. Strong understanding of market and trends with the ability to condense complicated data sets key messages
+ High level of integrity, accountability, and maturity with strong leadership skills to drive performance within the team and across the organization
