Job Summary
Director Cardiac Diagnostics: Directs the operations of Cardiac imaging services, diagnostic cardiology, Cardiac Cath and interventional services, EP lab services, Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Services and clerical and business support staff. Provides direction for managers, Coordinators, team leaders, Clinical staff, technologists, clerical staff and business supportstaff within assigned areas. Develops budgets and establishes appropriate cost controls for assigned areas. Assists in developing, interpreting, and applying hospital policies. Develops long-range plans for facilities, equipment, and personnel as they apply to radiology. Administers recruitment, performance evaluations, corrective action and associated matters in assigned areas. Maintains statistical and financial data reports and other reports, as required. Meets or exceeds customer requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Directs all operational aspects of the Department of Cardiac Diagnostics and Intervention within the professional guidelines of NHRMC, hospital patient care, administrative policies, external accrediting and inspecting agencies. The assessment of clinical competency, verification of clinical quality, and clinical outcomes will be the responsibility of each credentialed manager over their respective Cardiology modality.
+ Carries out administrative responsibility for assigned areas. Provides support and direction for managers, team leaders, Coordinators, Clinical Staff, technologists Business Support and clerical staff in areas of responsibility.
+ Maximizes technical, clinical business and clerical resources through the interviewing/hiring of employee candidates, performance evaluations, corrective action, and coaching/mentoring of subordinate employees, as appropriate.
+ Responsible for and assesses external and internal customer satisfaction through daily rounding, visibility within assigned units, and any other necessary means. Utilizes patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and physician satisfaction reports as measurements.
+ Develops and maintains positive relationships with all medical staff. Provides leadership and direction for medical staff in matters relating to Cardiac Diagnostics and Intervention.
+ Recommends strategies for long-range planning in areas of responsibility. Ensures appropriate cost controls to maintain budgetary compliance.
+ Monitors all revenue and expenses for assigned areas throughout fiscal year. Verifies and reconciles budgeted funds. Reports on variances and initiates corrective action. Serves as principal facilitator of budgetary process for Cardiac Diagnostic Interventional Service.
+ Monitors market needs and trends, facility referral trends, and suggests strategies to enhance market share. Accountable for increasing business activity in assigned units.
+ Creates reports presenting statistical data collected and makes projections and recommendations to Vice President. Directs the implementation of modifications to data collection processes to assure accuracy of measures.
+ Standardizes practices and systems and works with the Business Adminstrator to facilitate system-wide planning for new and replacement equipment. Reviews, approves and refers proposals to maintain efficient and effective information systems.
+ Evaluate Cardiology Diagnostic and Interventional services of assigned sections, units or satellites and maintains standards of quality consistent with DNV standards. Maintains quality control standards for the department to insure optimum patient and employee safety control.
+ Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures within the department and hospital that reflects the department and hospital mission and vision statement.
+ Responsible for coordinating and integrating inter-departmental and intra-departmental services to meet patients needs.
+ Establishes goals and objectives and manages processes to measure, assess, and improve the performance of the department and support services.
+ Develop performance standards to measure individual performance according to specific job descriptions.
+ Evaluates and counsels employees regarding performance, conduct, attendance, and other related matters.
+ Collaborates effectively with clinical and technical staff, Cardiologists, medical staff, ancillary departments, college instructors and staff.
+ Oversees departmental orientation and in-services training and continuing education with all non-clinical persons in assigned areas, including students. The Administrative Coordinators or Coordinators over each modality will complete the above with each clinical staff member.
+ Responsible for assuring that the department is staffed adequately to meet the needs of our patients and community.
+ Responsible for administrative records of personnel and patients as required.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Business or related field required, Masters Degree or 5 years Management experience in the Cardiology Service Line required.
Licensure / Certifications: RT-R,or RN,or NMTCB or ARDCS required.
Experience: Four to seven years of appropriate managerial experience. Functional knowledge and experience in support area.
