DIRECTOR - CENTRAL SERVICES (DEVELOPMENT)

Summary
SUMMARY: Reporting to the AVP of Development, the Director of Central Services is a high-level position in the Development/Fundraising Office responsible for leadership, daily oversight, implementation, and continuous improvement of Central Services, including: annual giving, donor relations, stewardship, corporate engagement, and special events. Oversees department communications efforts and is the primary liaison with the Marketing department. This position is a proactive partner for the frontline fundraising team. RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluates operations of the department in order to tailor services to needs of LifeBridge; and to identify staff, financial and physical resources needed to accomplish goals. Develops departmental budgets and assures compliance through subordinates. Sets goals and annual operating plan for the Development department based on strategic plan. Responsible for daily supervision of operations and prioritizes workload for operations staff. Design and implements internal policies. Optimizes development systems and reports and troubleshoots system breakdowns. Ensures that Nominating Committee tasks are implemented. Knowledge of bylaws, term limits, current board members and board member prospects. Responsible for communications with Development department employees and working with the Marketing Department to create the vision for communication plans for donors and prospects. Creates a coordinated vision for the Development Department communications with donors including annual giving, donor relations, stewardship, and events. Maintains and coordinates segmented constituent communication plans for the cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospects. Works with the Marketing Department to coordinate communication with their CRM initiatives. Manages the regular review and updates to Development Internet and Intranet sites. Ensures the regular interaction of the Central Services team to collaborate on communications with constituents. Responsible for comprehensive AG Program to build pipeline of donors and systemwide strategy that increases the number of individuals & organizations engaged with LBH and its entities. Ensures existing donors to the hospitals are stewarded. Manages the Annual Giving Director and the Donor Relations Manager, working with them to collaborate on a vision, strategy, and execution of a donor engagement plan. Provides guidance to the Annual Giving Director and the Donor Relations Manager in creating a comprehensive stewardship plan. Creates metrics for annual giving and stewardship to provide a measurable roadmap for success. Creates and oversees comprehensive event plan, including corporate engagement and support, including other fundraisers, cultivation & stewardship events. Plans and directs how the department is connecting with sponsors, donors and corporate partners. Manages the Director of Corporate Engagement and the Manager of Special Events and Development Communications, working with them on new and creative opportunities for corporate support and exposure. Leads the Central Services team to evaluate and update annual events and donor touches to maximize impact. Oversee management of Giving Campaign with members of Central Services team to maximize the impact, improve ways to reach all LBH team members, and hope to improve employee engagement, resulting in first-time, continued, or increased giving. Review current internal processes to ensure we are being efficient, such as adding products that streamline the signature process electronically for check requests, gift agreements and invoice approvals. Ensure Development team members have the resources to do their jobs, whether it be software or equipment Evaluate annual professional subscriptions, such as AHP, AFP, Advisory Board Evaluate fundraising software regularly to ensure it meets the needs of our system-wide team and ensure all team members are properly trained on the products they are using. Oversees special projects as assigned by the AVP of Development. Conducts research, develops timelines, selects vendors, negotiates contracts, reviews scope of work documents, assigns tasks, monitors and reports on programs and briefs on deliverables for special projects assigned by the AVP of Development. Acts as liaison with other LifeBridge departments in relation to special projects. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Abides by the laws and regulations that govern our business to ensure operational excellence. Ensures competencies are completed for employees. Monitors monthly operating expense performance of assigned department(s) with respect to annual budget and other targets established by senior leadership, including but not limited to operating budget, productivity standards, overtime utilization anD premium pay standards. Communicates, collaborates and cultivates an atmosphere of inclusion/belonging. Ensures appropriate hiring, as well as providing a welcoming and supporting environment for new team members. Champions the patient experience and commits to being relationship focused. Ensures team members' pay is accurate and effective to meet business needs. Manages the performance and development of individuals and teams. Responsible for directing, assigning, and reviewing work. Responsible for discipline of employees or providing input for disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
