**Director - Child Care Center** **Job Details** **Job Location** MCFI Main Campus - Milwaukee, WI **Position Type** Full Time **Education Level** High School Diploma, HSED or GED **Travel Percentage** None **Job Category** Health Care **Job Posting Date(s)** **Start Date** 10/29/2024 **Description** **_Job Purpose_** : This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and administering the Child Care Program operations and activities to meet the established requirements of the Child Care Licensure of the State of Wisconsin. **Essential Job Functions:** _(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.)_ + Interviewing and hiring qualified staff and providing orientation, training, development, coaching, and performance management as needed. + Maintaining licensure requirements and policy changes through regular staff meetings. + Scheduling to maintain an efficient number of staff to meet the center’s needs. + Maintaining current and accurate client and staff records, including all WI licensing required components. + Ensuring that the center meets all WI licensing requirements to include: + Standards of health and safety (Sanitation). + Learning environment. + Nutrition and food preparation. + Physical safety and well-being of children and staff. + Completing child enrollment information, including applications, immunization, and allergy records + Establishing and executing policies and procedures that ensure the well-being of children to include: + Developmentally appropriate curriculum. + Positive Behavior Management Plans. + Safe arrival and departure. + Maintaining an environment that is tolerant and respectful of child and family culture, values, and systems. + Provide families with information and assistance with community resources. + Report evidence of suspected abuse/ neglect to the local Department of Social Services. + Establish fees and the procedure for obtaining fees and monitor fee payments. + With the approval of the PSN director, order appropriate teaching supplies to meet the children's educational needs. + Represent the center in the community and liaise with other agencies. + Works with the quality department to develop appropriate measures to support program outcomes. + Participates in department quality planning activities (e.g., Continuous improvement, Logic models, performance metrics, etc.). + Other duties as assigned. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** + Performs human resources responsibilities for employees, including onboarding, training, coaching on performance, completing performance reviews, and improving overall employee morale. Recommends hiring, terminations, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations. Reviews and approves the accurate time report. + Responsible for ensuring that personal actions and the actions of supervised employees comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the program funders, contracts, and CFI business **Qualifications** **Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure, and Credentials:** _(Where appropriate,_ _education and/or experience may be substituted)_ **Minimum Required Education:** High School Diploma. An associate or bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is preferred. **Minimum Required Experience:** + Experience with children with special health needs is preferred. + Minimum of 240 hours of experience as a Childcare Teacher or Assistant Teacher in a group childcare licensed childcare center or other approved setting. **Required License/Certification/Registration** ; Issued by Governing Body (if applicable): + Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for a center director as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. Applicants may qualify as outlined below: + Having a minimum of 2 credits of early childhood education from an institute of higher education and completion of one non-credit department approved course. + Having 48 credits from an institute of higher education with a minimum of 3 credits of early childhood education or its equivalent. + Having a minimum of 4 credits of early childhood education from an institute of higher education. + A 1-year diploma in childcare or early childhood education from an institute of higher education. + An associate degree in early childhood education or childcare from an institute of higher education. + Completion of 2 non-credit department approved courses. + The Registry Toddler, Preschool, or Program Development credential. + A certificate from the Registry indicating that the person is a qualified childcare teacher. + A license issued by the Wisconsin department of public instruction or the appropriate authority in another state indicating that the person is qualified to act as a prekindergarten, kindergarten, or early childhood regular or special education teacher. + A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional + Completion of at least 10 hours of training in supervision or personnel management within one year of assuming the position if not previously trained. + Skills and ability in project management and meeting deadlines. **Travel outside of office** _:_ None. **Required Valid Driver’s License:** N/A **Required Auto Insurance:** N/A **Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:** + Displays an ongoing commitment to learning and self-improvement. + Formally delivers information to groups. + Partners with clients to identify and resolve complex or sensitive issues. + Helps create a work environment that embraces and appreciates diversity. + Manages staff in ways that improve their ability to succeed on the job. + Coordinates ideas and resources to achieve goals. **Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:** **Physical Requirements:** On occasion, the person must be able to move, transport, position, push/pull, and/ or lift objects or equipment weighing at least 50 pounds at a distance of 450 feet. The person must also safely push a person in a wheelchair on a level floor or a wheelchair ramp in various weather conditions. The person must also be able to transfer a person from a wheelchair to the toilet, chair, or van seat/car with the use of a gait belt and/or manual or power Hoyer lift. **Visual Acuity:** The worker must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal. **Working Conditions:** Ability to successfully deal with change and potentially stressful situations. This position is responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of consumers in normal program settings and various community settings. As such, this position must be able to observe consumer activities, detect areas of danger, distinguish when non-communicative consumers need personal care, and converse clearly with consumers and other people in the community on a frequent basis.
