Director Clinical Engineering Planning & Projects

This role is responsible for leading Clinical Engineering Strategy teammates in executing the strategies for Clinical Technology Replacement, Fleet deployment, and Clinical Engineering projects. Responsible for managing the relationships and collaboration with the clinical service lines, support services, supply chain and IT leaders, peers and partners, including the Enterprise Project Management Office for medical equipment project planning and onboarding including project approval, tracking, installation, interoperability.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Has direct leadership responsibility for the Clinical Engineering Strategy Managers and Coordinators. Leads the development and management of the scoring criteria for medical equipment technology forecasting and planningLeads and directs the collaboration with organizational stakeholders to review capital equipment inventories, forecasts, plans, and scoring to receive feedback, and gain insights to develop trusting relationships and agreementEnsures the ongoing management, review, and validation of plans, while investigating opportunities for cost reduction, improved safety and cybersecurity, and operational efficiency and optimizationLeads the collaboration with CE Operations, CE Support Operations, Capital and Equipment Planning and IT teammates on planning, support, and IT processes to ensure CE Strategy is alignedOversees clinical engineering medical equipment onboarding project management to ensure that all clinical engineering related tasks are completed and on time. Meets with and elicits feedback from organizational leaders to improve processesEvaluates staff productivity and other specific work quality performance indicesServes as CE leadership representative for Enterprise Project Management Office and collaborates with IT peers to ensure clinical engineering operational resources are identified, scoped, and orchestrated effectively to meet project goals and deadlinesRepresents and presents on behalf of Clinical Engineering Strategy team in local, regional, and enterprise strategy sessions to add value and build trusting relationshipsDevelops and recommends operating budget and controls expenditures within approved budget objectivesPerforms human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale

Level of Education: 

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Biomedical engineering or business preferred

Years of Experience: 

Typically requires 7 years minimum experience in clinical engineering related field, with an additional 3-5 years of leadership experience in clinical engineering related field, including project and strategy management

Oral & written communication skills, organizational abilities, priority management, and statistical analysis abilitiesDemonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and orderliness in performing job duties. Experienced in leading and facilitating group and team meetings & projects

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.Exposed to a normal office environment.
