Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$82.927 - $107.003 - $131.079


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
The Director of Community Connect serves as the Connection point between the clinical and business operations staff of Sharp HealthCare's affiliate organizations, the Sharp HealthCare (SHC) Information Technology solutions teams, and the Community Connect operations management team.

The Director will be responsible for developing and improving implementation and support strategies, building teamwork among the stakeholder groups, translating enterprise strategy for the Connect team, framing the work to ensure we are delivering optimal solutions, gathering tactical information from the team, and managing partner relationships (with SHC peers and vendors).

The Director is also responsible for overseeing the Connect team's training and optimization efforts—guiding practices and users to fully take advantage of the deployed technology solutions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, health care administration, or related field.7 years of leadership experience within a complex healthcare setting.5 years increased responsible in healthcare management and/or healthcare information technology management experience.Highly experienced in all areas of management, including people management and teams that have a matrixed reporting structure.Experience leading a multifaceted program from development to successful delivery.


Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in computer science, business administration, health care administration, or related field.Proven track record of business development in a healthcare setting preferred.Experience managing vendors, including contracting and financial operations in a healthcare system preferred.Experience with large-scale IT projects, and particularly with Epic Community Connect programs or mergers/acquisitions is highly desirable.Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS) - HIMSS -PREFERREDPMI Project Management Professional (PMP) - Various-Employee provides certificate -PREFERREDSix Sigma Yellow Belt Certification - Various-No accreditation board -PREFERRED


Essential Functions

Leadership and Strategic IT Planning
Functions as the liaison for strategic initiatives between SHC, ISD, and assigned affiliate organizations. Represents SHC and community physician interests with relevant vendors and other 3rd parties.
Leads and partners with IT and SHC operational leadership in the planning for Community Connect strategy to ensure that IT resources are appropriately aligned to bring value to customer’s business objectives. Partners with community physician practices in identifying critical business problems, defining strategic requirements (including capital and operating requirements) and business cases, workflow optimization, monitoring and continuously improving the program to meet regulatory and market demands.
Promotes inter-department and enterprise-wide partnerships, teamwork and cooperation to support achievement of Information Systems Departmental goals. Coordinates and assists with various IT governance functions in the leadership of Community Connect programs and products.
Responsible for vital program functions, including outreach & development, contracting, compliance, operations, and account management.
Guides overarching business development and pipeline management, in partnership with Sharp executive stakeholders
Facilitates meetings, prepares and delivers presentations, may be designated to fill in for executive leadership of the Community Connect program in various capacities.
Prepares the program finances and project budgets for the various affiliate-related programs. Monitors and manages financial expenses, identifying risks/issues and if needed, mitigation approaches. Ensures cost effective solutions are evaluated, justified and provided as required. Develops cost-effective business partnerships with IT-related vendors. Looks for opportunities to decrease the cost of products or services on a minimum annual basis.
Participates in assigned vendor contracting, negotiation and renewal activities and partners with others to ensure Sharp HealthCare contract standards are met.
Monitors program services, providing guidance on program scope decisions and shared service deployment.Client and Vendor Relationships
Manages the on-going relationship between SHC IT, the affiliate clients, and the applicable vendors regarding HIT solutions’ maintenance, enhancements and support. Ensure that product delivery, project success, and service level compliance is achieved. Works to surface affiliate group business needs with SHC IT and vendors. Represents affiliate groups and practices in vendor user groups.
Establishes partnerships to ensure delivery, implementation and operation of technology solutions that are reliable, meet or exceed agreed upon expectations, and acts as the escalation point for unresolved issues.
Research future software platform solutions and encourages affiliate participation in vendor-offered learning opportunities (e.g., user groups, “Thrive” training, etc.).
Keeps up with trends in health system/affiliate partnership agreements, translating those trends to IT and SHC strategic planning objectives and share with the Connect team so that all are knowledgeable and can be high functioning contributors to new idea generation.Team Management
