Service Management & Assurance (SMA) Director is a leadership role within Controllership, Finance. This position focuses on ensuring the integrity of financial data utilized for regulatory reporting, managing delivery of advanced analytics, and providing operational support to ensure financial systems are working as designed and required auditability & controls are maintained. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and excellent service delivery within the organization. It demands a combination of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a customer-centric approach. Below is a comprehensive job description for this role:
Key Responsibilities:
GL Assurance:
Oversee the integrity and accuracy of the Subledger data used for U.S. Regulatory Reporting and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements & policies Implement controls to prevent errors and ensure completeness Drive continuous improvements in Assurance processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risks Act as the point of contact for external and internal audits related to the GL Assurance function
Service Management:
Lead end-to-end operational support to ensure financial systems are working as designed Provide Level 1 support & collaborate with cross-functional teams to address gaps, resolve issues, and enhance customer satisfaction Optimize processes through automation, technology integration, and best practices Partner with Tech teams to ensure the reliability and performance of financial systems
Analytics
Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reporting solutions Ensure dashboards deliver actionable insights by combining advanced analytics techniques (e.g., predictive, prescriptive) with intuitive visualizations Standardize data visualization and reporting templates for consistency and efficiency Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of dashboards with data platforms and systems
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of FinTech professionals Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and innovation Provide strategic direction and mentorship to team members
Strategy & Transformation:
Drive the development and implementation of strategies for financial assurance and service excellence Lead transformation initiatives, including system upgrades, and process reengineering Align the SMA functions with its broader financial and operational goals
Stakeholder Management:
Act as a liaison between finance, operations, and technology teams to ensure seamless collaboration Communicate effectively with senior leadership and other stakeholders on key performance metrics, risks, and improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or professional certifications like CPA/Chartered Accountant, or similar qualification, preferred) 10+ years of experience in financial operations, shared services, or service management roles Proven expertise in General Ledger management, financial controls, and compliance Strong leadership skills with experience managing global teams and large-scale operations Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and service management tools Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Key Competencies:
