EDDS is an Enterprise team which develops digital and data capabilities, operates key platforms and creates unified digital experiences across the entire customer lifecycle.The successful candidate will coordinate global projects and initiatives related to EDDS and the development and implementation of EDDS’ strategies, policies, and capabilities. The work involves navigation of novel business and legal issues across a broad range of matters and working seamlessly with colleagues across the Enterprise.The position will also support the broader work of this global legal team, in a variety of digital, data and innovation projects, strategic partnerships and deals and risk management initiatives.This position will report to a VP & Senior Counsel and is based in New York **Role & Responsibilities:** As a trusted legal advisor to the business, you will: * Participate as part of a team of experienced attorneys serving as the central business lawyers and strategic advisors to EDDS, providing and coordinating legal advice on a broad range of regulatory, strategic and commercial matters, all within a dynamic business and regulatory environment. * Engage in strategic projects for EDDS and other teams to advance cutting-edge business opportunities, support risk management and address regulatory change. * Provide comprehensive legal support for product development and assess cross-functional legal risks related to digital channels, web and digital acquisition platforms, customer communications and big-data initiatives. * Support business teams and enterprise stakeholders to develop and review offer constructs and program terms, and to manage enabling platforms and processes. Support the development of innovative customer engagement strategies. * Lead contract drafting and negotiations for a broad range of agreements with vendors and partners. * Lead and coordinate legal support for Enterprise programs relating to the management and retention of data and company records. + * Build strong relationships with stakeholders including Compliance, Privacy, Control Management, Finance and Government Affairs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and mitigate legal, operational, regulatory and reputational risks. * Monitor external legal and regulatory trends and developments. * Engage and with key stakeholders across the organization in order to efficiently identify and mitigate associated risks, including Compliance, Data Strategy, Information Security, Privacy, and the Third-Party Lifecycle Management teams. **QUALIFICATIONS – Are you ready for the challenge?** **Minimum qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree and JD (or equivalent). + Admission to practice law in New York Bar in good standing or eligibility to register as in-house counsel. + 5 years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal environment. **Preferred qualifications:** + Experience advising marketing/business, technology, and operations teams on how to implement nuanced legal and policy requirements. + Ability to convey clear advice to clients and provide proactive, creative, and business-oriented solutions. + Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, whilst collaborating with various teams across the organization on a global scale. + Transactional experience with ability to effectively assess and align legal strategies with business needs and objectives. + Strong interest and/or experience in digital products, data, emerging technology, and artificial intelligence. + Strong executive presence, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence stakeholders on cross-functional teams through collaboration. + Self-motivated, with the ability to resolve novel, complex issues with a resourceful, can-do attitude. + Demonstrated ability to build excellent relationships with legal colleagues and business clients, while prioritizing multiple challenging tasks and managing stakeholder expectations. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. **Qualifications** Salary Range: $170,000.00 to $255,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
