Summary:

The Data Science Director will provide leadership, direction, decision-making, and oversight for advanced data science initiatives across the GAF enterprise. The position is responsible for leading and developing a team to model complex business problems and discover business insights using data science statistical algorithms, mining, and visualization techniques to support GAF’s business units.

Responsibilities:

Research cutting-edge machine learning/deep learning/artificial intelligence techniques and tools.Guide business partners on optimally using AI / LLM / Machine Learning models.Evangelize data science use cases across the enterprise based on business value.Articulate a vision and roadmap for the exploitation of data as a valued corporate assetEvangelize best practices to analytics and digital product teamsLead the enterprise data science program for GAFPerform large-scale experimentation and build data-science-driven models to answer business questions.Influence leadership and digital product teams through the presentation of data-science-based recommendationsLead and mentor a team of Data Scientists and Advance Analytics AnalystsAssess, benchmark and select data analytics technologies to be added to the big data platforms.

Under This Roof, We Require

Masters Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science preferred.Graduate degree in Mathematics, Data Science or other quantitative field or CS/Engineering/Technology requiredExcellent communication and presentation skillsExperience in data miningUnderstanding of machine-learning and operations researchExperience in R, SQL and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an assetExperience using and understanding business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)Experience working with various cloud providers (Google, Microsoft and Amazon)Analytical mind and business acumenStrong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)Problem-solving aptitudeExcellent active listening and critical thinking skillsAbility to solve advanced-level, complicated problems with minimal supervisionAbility to demonstrate professionalism, confidence, and sincerityAbility to multitask, exercise excellent time management, and meet multiple deadlinesDemonstrated excellence in project management and organizationAbility to provide and receive constructive job and/or industry related feedbackAbility to exercise sound discretion and strict maintenance of confidentiality of all confidential and sensitive communications and informationAbility to consistently deliver excellent customer serviceExcellent attention to detail and ability to document information accurately10+ years of experience in data analytics/data foundation experience in analytics.8 years+ of management and leadership experience8 years+ architecting business intelligence, ETL, application, and database8 years+ of experience analyzing complex data, managing multiple projects with increasing difficulty and complexity and developing sophisticated reportsStay abreast of industry trends and advancements in the data analytics field.Self-driven, motivated candidate without much hand-holding.
