The Director Dealer Aftermarket Programs is responsible for delivering exceptional support for products of Generac Power Systems. This position will develop and manage dealer support strategies, drive process improvements, and collaborate with product teams to enhance customer satisfaction (ultimately ensuring generator uptime by servicing with Generac aftermarket products). The key responsibly will be to translate business segment strategy into functional plans. These plans will guide the team of aftermarket field managers, who will be influencing dealer operations (utilizing Generac aftermarket programs) to provide a better consumer experience.
This position operates with a significant level of independence, decision-making rights, and accountability to ensure dealer partner aftermarket program goals are achieved.
Major ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of field sales professionals to ensure high performance and professional development.
Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively. Overcommunication focus is highly valued.
Support Strategy: Develop and implement support strategies and processes to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Balancing of team resources vs. customer/dealer urgencies.
Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for dealer improvement and while simultaneously consolidating wholistic market feedback to drive innovation of corporate aftermarket product offerings.
Performance Metrics: Set and monitor performance metrics for the support team, ensuring goals are met and service quality is maintained.
Collaboration: Work closely with product development and sales teams & technical support call center to address any known dealership gaps.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance support services, reduce downtime, and optimize product performance. Process mindset. Drive for excellence in execution.
Training and Development: Develop and support training programs to ensure the dealership team is knowledgeable about products and best practices.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of support processes and issues and provide regular reports on support activities and outcomes.
Minimum Job RequirementsEducation
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and experience
Work Experience
7 years of experience in field dealer sales support, aftermarket experience ideal
4 years of management level experience
Prior experience creating, implementing, and reporting against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Demonstrated ability to translate program results, trends and key insights into impactful strategies that drive growth for both Generac and our dealers.
Deep understanding of market segmentation and customer journeys in dealership environment
Ability to build relationships and work across teams, departments and customers
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and across multiple audiences and organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key business partners to develop and execute strategy.
Demonstrated ability to make informed, data driven decisions & recommendations.
