Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy Resources (NEER) is seeking a strategic, data-driven leader to establish and lead our Competitive Intelligence team. As Director of Competitive Intelligence, you will play a critical role in tracking market trends, analyzing competitors, and delivering insights that shape our renewable energy and storage strategies. Your work will directly influence our project development, site selection, and investment decisions.

 

What You’ll Do

· Build & Lead a high-performing Competitive Intelligence team.

· Analyze competitor activity, tracking project pipelines, interconnection queues, market dynamics and development trends to identify opportunities and risks.

· Develop Market Insights, conducting deep-dive analyses on industry trends, regulatory shifts, and technological advancements.

· Leverage Data & Technology, utilizing GIS, data visualization, and advanced analytics to enhance intelligence gathering efforts.

· Deliver Actionable Recommendations, translating complex data into clear, strategic insights for senior leadership.

· Collaborate Cross-Functionally, ensuring competitive intelligence is integrated into project development and corporate strategy.


What You Bring

· 10+ years in related field (competitive intelligence, market analysis, strategy. Etc.) —5+ years in renewable energy preferred.

· Master’s degree preferred (e.g., Business, Data Analytics, Energy, or related field).

· A Natural Curiosity for the Industry, thriving on uncovering competitive insights and translating complex data into clear, actionable strategies that give NEER an edge.

· Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with expertise in data analytics, GIS, and market modeling.

· Strong storytelling and communication skills to influence key stakeholders.

Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for leading and coordinating key functions of a project such as financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design, project legal review and financial negotiations. The position plays a key role in building strategic relationships and executing major contracts necessary to support the Company’s generating business growth initiatives. This role reviews and oversees the development of key project agreements. This role is responsible for all aspects of the business deal and will be involved in the closure of multiple projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities Translates company financial, commercial, risk management, technical and operating goals into effective contracting strategies and objectives Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external strategic partners Assembles and leads internal cross functional, multi-disciplined teams through the solicitation and negotiation processes Provides overall leadership and drive key decisions during negotiations Delivers on contracting objectives and proforma requirements Delivers contracts that position the internal project execution team for maximum success Manages the contracting budget and schedule for assigned projects Provides periodic updates to and interact with senior management Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications High School Grad/GED Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience Experience:  10+ years Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's - Business Administration Master's - Business Administration
