**Overview**
The Digital team is transforming the way Southern Glazer’s customers, suppliers, sales, and service organizations interact with each other through its digital experiences. The Digital Merchandising team assumes a crucial role in developing and executing merchandising strategies that position our wine, spirits, and supplies effectively for our customers within our Digital channels. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to drive product discovery, engagement, and sales on SG Proof.
You will be responsible for leading a newly formed team of Digital Merchandisers, playing a critical role in defining the team identity and purpose, setting and evangelizing the team strategy, and establishing value added processes from planning to execution and analysis. This role reports to the VP of Digital, Selling Experiences, who is responsible for the overall product strategy and development across all digital channels, including merchandising strategy and execution for SG Proof.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Team Leadership: Build a high performing, best in industry team by attracting, developing, and empowering highly skilled, engaged, and empowered talent.
+ Vision and Storytelling: Create a long-term vision for the role and impact Digital Merchandising will have in setting our customer and supplier experience apart while driving incremental sales.
+ Site Strategy: Develop a holistic site strategy across all business lines, overseeing visual site merchandising, content strategy and site functionality like navigation, hierarchy, & search.
+ Operational Excellence: Design and implement efficient and collaborative workflows, processes, and timelines, focusing on getting the fundamentals right before scaling.
+ Change Champion: Play a key role in our Digital Transformation by nimbly adopting new technologies, creatively solving problems, and continuously seeking innovation opportunities.
+ Data-Driven: Foster a culture of data-first decision making, establishing measurable KPIs for prioritization and routines to continuously monitor and share results with key stakeholders.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Be an invaluable and influential partner with Marketing, Commercial, and Digital product teams to establish and meet shared goals across the business.
**Additional Primary Responsibilities**
+ Stakeholder Communication: Build trust by communicating plans and key initiatives to stakeholders and leaders early and often to ensure alignment and collaboration.
+ Purchase Journey: Think end-to-end to ensure the customer journey, in partnership with Marketing, is optimal, driving clicks, increased baskets, and improved conversion rates.
+ Market and Compliance Aware: Understand business complexities across markets to ensure strategies and execution are compliant while maximizing use of available merchandising levers.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ 8+ years related experience in Digital Merchandising and eCommerce or related field
+ 3+ years leading and managing a team of individual contributors
+ Experience with A/B testing, content management, and publishing applications.
+ Knowledge of eCommerce best practices and trends including digital marketing and merchandising tactics.
+ Strong critical thinking and analytic skills with demonstrated ease in accessing multiple data sources
+ Strong data-driven decision-making capabilities, particularly in understanding online shopping behaviors and the alcohol beverage industry
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and effectively; listens to and responds appropriately to others; presents ideas and recommendations in ways that influence the beliefs and decisions of others and inspires them to action
+ Ability to travel overnight, approximately 30%

+ Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
+ May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 25lbs
