Will define a disaster recovery program that aligns to industry standard frameworks and will ultimately ensure that Discover can operate its products & services whether there is a planned or unplanned event to serve its customers. This role will be accountable for the governance and oversight of risk and controls for the enterprise-wide disaster recovery program, including the implementation of governance frameworks, risk methodologies, and compliance assessments. The Director Disaster Recovery will provide consultation and guidance on disaster recovery risk areas, methodologies and approaches to both business units and IT teams. Leading disaster recovery team in the event of company emergencies, may include after hours or weekend availability if disaster issues arise. Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization. **Responsibilities:** + Sets strategic direction and priority for Disaster Recovery program initiatives/programs with a focus on sustainable processes and controls and awareness of scenarios that would necessitate a disaster recovery event declaration. + Identify key risks & scenarios that Discover would need to be prepared for and enact tested plans that would ensure Discover could operate successfully in the event a disaster recovery situation was declared. + Develop strategic partnerships with internal and external partners to ensure that disaster recovery plans are viable and work with respective teams to ensure any gaps are identified and remediated quickly. + Establish/lead a working group/steering committee to ensure that the needs of Discover are being addressed from a disaster recovery perspective and business process dependencies are identified and addressed to ensure compliance with RTO’s as needed. + Identify key metrics for the disaster recovery program and ensure that these metrics are met or exceeded and shared with senior leadership as needed. + Provide oversight and direction over the management and response of all disaster recovery audit findings, self-identified findings, control deficiencies and emerging risks. + Oversee regulatory compliance programs for disaster recovery efforts and ensure alignment with Corporate Risk Management strategy and goals especially the business continuity program office. + Recruit, build, develop, retain, recognize and promote high performing talent while also addressing low performing individuals. **Minimum qualifications:** _Education:_ + Bachelor’s degree in Information Security or Business Administration and Management _Experience:_ + 10+ years of experiencein Information Security, Risk Management, Business Resilience, Financial Industry or Security. + 2+ years of experience leading large teams with enterprise responsibilities, certifications in business resilience, threat intelligence and incident response background. **Application Deadline:** The application window for this position is anticipated to close on Jun-03-2024. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
