This is a Salaried position. Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Director Education/Professional Practice is responsible for oversight of the education model. Develops, executes, and plans the strategic initiatives for education and professional practice, which define the overall strategic plan. The Director Education/Professional Practice promotes excellence in nursing leadership, evidence-based practice, education, and management through his/her role as change agent educator, consultant, mentor, program developer, and professional role model. Ensures development and delivery of high quality programs to achieve highly reliable outcomes. Works together with Ministry Education, Ministry Professional Governance and the Institute of Learning to coordinate, develop, and implement practice and educational programs throughout all hospital departments using evidence-based methodologies and adult learning theory to address accrediting and regulatory standards. Responsible for educational programs that are financially responsible and efficient. Ensures alignment with Ministry Shared Governance initiatives, as well as Business Development and Occupational Health for community based programs. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Masters Licenses/Certifications: RN-Registered Nurse Experience: 3 years of hospital nursing experience Progressive Leadership Experience in healthcare environment Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the educational processes including staff and/or patient education teaching materials, writing, behavior objectives and organizing educational programs from conception to evaluation. A professional nursing certification recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center within 2 years of hire.
