Summary:
In collaboration with the System Facilities Operations VP and Management, directs, promotes, and participates in developing and implementing Environmental Health and Safety standards throughout The MetroHealth System. Leads the organizational continuous accreditation readiness program and activities related to the Environment of Care (EOC). Serves as an organizational resource for accreditation and regulatory requirements for outside agencies including but not limited to The Joint Commission (TJC), the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the Public Employee Risk Reduction Program. Partners with key stakeholders on performance improvement projects related to regulatory requirements. Manages assigned personnel.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field. In lieu of a degree, any combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. 5 years of progressive environmental health and safety and/or TJC Environment of Care accreditation experience 2 of those years in healthcare. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM), or other healthcare safety certification. Working knowledge of regulatory/accrediting agencies, e.g., Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), The Joint Commission (TJC), National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Demonstrated skills in management, organizational planning, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Excellent critical thinking and analytical aptitude. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to travel as necessary. Reliable transportation to travel between facilities. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Master's Degree in related field. HAZWOPER certification, DOT and RCRA hazardous waste training Apply
