Summary: Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President of Rowan Online Operations, the Director for Online Instructor Success leads operations and support for instructor recruiting, hiring, onboarding, assessment, and course evaluations for Rowan Online instructor pool in compliance with all mandated policies and regulations and adherence to all University-wide policies. The director will create a supportive environment to improve instructional practices and student success. This position will also work closely with different entities such as the Provost Office, academic colleges and departments, Human Resources, Registrar’s Office, Online Learning, and Course Operations, as well as other associated offices, as it relates to course staffing and management.

Primary Responsibilities
Operations
+ Manages and evaluates the office's day-to-day operations, optimizing efficiency.
+ Supervises subordinate staff and provides performance evaluations.
+ Ensures that all facets of Rowan Online Instructor Operations are compliant with applicable state and federal laws.
+ Creates, reviews, and processes instructor recruitment and hiring for Rowan Online in appropriate university systems.
+ Collaborates with Course Operations team to ensure seamless assignment of instructors to courses.
+ Works with offices including, but not limited to, Provost Office, academic colleges and departments, Human Resources, Registrar’s Office, Online Learning, and Course Operations to create processes that result in more efficient and accurate management and results.
+ Coordinates with staff to investigate and resolve reported incidents of system errors pertaining to an instructor’s ability to access and utilize university systems.
+ Oversees instructor orientation for Rowan Online including, but not limited to, hiring process, instructor responsibilities after hire, resources available to better support students, etc.
+ Responds to instructor inquiries (as load requires) related to course schedule administration (such as assignments, hiring process, and all necessary hiring logistics).
+ Guides Rowan Online instructors through all onboarding steps from hiring through to the first day of class.
+ Supervises the FLAC faculty contracting system for Rowan Online to ensure accuracy.
+ Manages communication between offices involved in instructor hiring for Rowan Online.
Assessment and Support
+ Continuously reviews best practices and present process improvements and efficiencies to leadership for approvals. Assess, on a regular basis, whether improvements are effective and report findings to leadership.
+ Creates opportunities for collaboration and connection to advance student success.
+ Provide clear and accessible information about resources and policies.
+ Facilitates the generation of requested instructor-related statistical data, including instructor schedules, instructor onboarding benchmarks, etc.
+ Regularly evaluates the effectiveness and impact of Rowan Online courses to identify and prioritize improvements needed to the infrastructure; refine the implementation of Rowan Online courses; and optimize the external validation and reporting of learning.
+ Other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President of Rowan Online Operations.
Qualifications:
Required
+ Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree.
+ Three (3) years of professional experience effectively overseeing projects and analyzing administrative practices, and operations to meeting organizational visions/goals.
+ Competency to evaluate department performance, develop methods for improvement, and meet established objectives.
+ Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
+ Ability to supervise the preparation of clear and accurate reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
+ Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to successfully prioritize and facilitate several projects and deadlines independently.
+ Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities.
