What You'll Do We’re looking for a Director, Fund Shareholder Services to lead, develop, and manage a Financial Intermediary Oversight Team responsible for servicing Principal’s investment products, which include mutual funds, CITs, ETFs, Interval Funds, UMAs/SMAs, 529 plans, and UCITs! The team’s scope includes facilitation and execution of financial intermediary firm agreements and related invoices, data requests, firm communications and firm operational support. The team partners closely with service providers and financial intermediary firms, as well as internal teams such as Distribution, Trust Company, Legal, Finance, and Compliance. Oversee development, implementation and ongoing management of department policies and procedures and review/maintain the development of quality and production guidelines. Ensure service solutions provided to financial intermediary firms and internal stakeholders are timely and thorough, and related functions are handled accurately, efficiently, and according to established guidelines. Manage team workflow and oversee execution of projects to meet division goals. Lead a team performing financial intermediary oversight functions for Principal’s investment products. Plan, organize, and drive the day-to- day operations of the team. Ensure activities are executed in compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. Provide oversight, guidance and direction to staff to ensure high quality and superior service for financial intermediary firms and internal stakeholders. Provide leadership and advanced technical expertise in formulating solutions to complex problems. Actively direct the team and lead initiatives to identify risks and opportunities that support achievement of expected organizational goals and regulatory standards (e.g. workflow efficiencies, policies and procedures, training needs, quality standards, financial management and expense reduction). Oversee team’s projects and communications. Manage intermediary oversight service provider to ensure program is completed accurately and timely. Lead, develop and motivate staff in an environment that embraces change, fosters focus, teamwork, creativity, timeliness and results that are measured and recognized. Assist team with workload, as needed, to meet deadlines and accomplish objectives. Provide direction to other internal and external teams and stakeholders. Effectively communicate with and share insights based on knowledge of the working components of handling business operations and overall understanding of goals, objectives, processes, procedures. Who You Are Bachelor's degree or equivalent 8+ years of relevant asset management/financial services experience with a focus on financial intermediary services, including transfer agency operations and service provider oversight Previous investment products experience including mutual funds, CITs, ETFs, Interval Funds, UMAs/SMAs, 529 plans, and UCITs Broad knowledge of business area practices, systems, and processes FINRA Series 6 or 7 licensing required within 6 months of hire and FINRA Series 26 or 24 licensing required 6 months later Skills That Will Help You Stand Out Experience operating in a global, matrixed organization Handle conversations with professionalism and demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and good business ethics and negotiation skills Excellent leadership, training, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational, problem solving/analytical, prioritization skills, and detail orientation Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required. Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $137000 - $185000 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
