Ericsson’s Government and Policy Advocacy team is focused on enhancing Ericsson’s insight, access, and influence with policymakers in Japan. Our policy issues are centered on our business interests – wide-ranging, critical to customers, and at the heart of progress for society. We strive to influence policy early in its development and seed new policy ideas that support our company’s strategy and business objectives.
This role requires expertise in technology policy, a strong understanding of the policymaking process, and the external political and geopolitical context to help enable a telecommunications-friendly policy regime.
What you will do
Formulate and lead advocacy activity on Ericsson’s business and policy priorities with government stakeholders.Prepare verbal and written internal briefing materials to a high standard for local, regional, and global Ericsson executives.Assess and anticipate key public policy matters and oversee and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives.Distill and effectively communicate the significance of policy changes on Ericsson’s business.Represent Ericsson’s interests effectively in industry associations where Ericsson is a member.What you will bring
A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with an advanced degree, preferably in a relevant discipline (e.g., Law, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Technology, Science, or Engineering).15+ years of experience in government or corporate public policy, preferably in the technology industry and with expertise in digital policy.Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in both Japanese and English, including the ability to engage comfortably at senior corporate and political levels.Some international travel will be required.
