The Support Services functions at S:US are carried out by a team of professionals with differing backgrounds who share deeply in the S:US mission. We provide resources and support to the program departments to collectively pursue that mission. Support Services is a collegial, supportive and dynamic culture that continuously seeks to improve. The Director of Grants Administration will report to the VP of Grants Administration and provide analytical support to the Grants Department. They will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative and financial management of a portfolio of grants from federal, state and local entities. This individual will have primary responsibility to maintain consistent processes for pre- and post-award grants management to ensure S:US remains compliant with the terms of its contractual agreements and with federal, state and city regulations governing the acceptance and expenditure of grant funds such as

CBRs and OMB circulars including UG audits.

Qualifications

Grants Administration and Budgeting

· Work with SUS Finance to ensure grants are set up correctly in finance systems so they may be tracked to ensure expenditures are reasonable and allowable.

· Work on Contract Renewals (New York City, State, Federal, including HUD Renewal Applications), Budget Renewals (including CBRs, etc.) (New York City, State and Federal).

· Coordinate and respond to audit requests (agency wide (BDO) and Funders).

· Manage preparation of grant applications including developing budgets and compiling required data.

· Coordinate meetings as needed for management of grants and contracts, including but not limited to scheduling planning sessions and reviews of milestones, timelines and budgets.

Supervision

 

· Set goals and supervise performance of grants staff under your supervision.

· Supervise tracking compliance with grant conditions including the timing and accuracy of reporting deliverables.

· Oversee the claims processes for grants as well as ensure full compliance with Funders' requirements (e.g., DOHMH, DHS, HUD, OTDA).

 

Reporting and Analysis

 

· Communicate complex financial information to Program Management and Senior Management (including but not limited to preparation of comparative analysis reports, budget versus actual analyses, etc.).

· Assist in supporting all departments company-wide in the identification and support for grant-related requests to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

· Prepare and present status charts and briefings related to submitted and awarded grants and contracts to department and corporate meetings as required.

· Analyze year-to-date financial performance of the programs.

· Build financial models to calculate revenue and expense projections

· Analyze results and provide commentary to the VP of Grants Administration and the CFO.

 

Other

 

· Work with S:US departments to develop and implement grant procedures.

· Assist in researching grant opportunities and developing grant-seeking strategies.

· Coordinate implementation and testing of new ERP Systems (and/or upgrade of the existing systems) in the department.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

IV. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field and/or in a relevant business field, such as: Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or Economics.

· Experience undergoing and supervising audits.

· Demonstrated experience reflecting progressive responsibility including supervision of staff.

· Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State and City/local grant processes and experience monitoring grant/contract compliance.

· Experience demonstrating skill in effectively communicating financial concepts to financial and non-financial customers.

· Demonstrated skills using Microsoft desktop applications including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio.

· Excellent analytical skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.

· Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel creating models and using advanced formulas.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· Master’s degree preferred.

· Experience with ERP systems – Microsoft Dynamics – NAV preferred.

· Experience with budgeting/planning applications.
