If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.** **Director Health Economics and Outcomes Research** Lead the development and implementation of U.S. Data Generation and Observational Studies (DG&OS) research in the field for the Bayer product portfolio; Be responsible for DG&OS research plans with customers to meet their informational needs; Design and conduct studies including outcomes, economics and epidemiology studies; Interact with Managed Care Organization (MCOs), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to deliver value messages for product pricing and reimbursement, and utilization; Provide value to external stakeholders by creating connections with key decisions makers at Payers and Healthcare Systems. Serve as a scientific bridge to key decision makers at MCOs, IDNs, ACOs, and Payers. Provide medical and pharmacoeconomic expertise through collaborations to demonstrate the value of Bayer s portfolio. Deliver clinical and economic/HEOR value propositions presentations. Conduct mutually beneficial research with HP/PBMs, IDNs and other stakeholders to demonstrate Bayer s commitment to improve access for patients. Assist with model development and utilization of payers/healthcare systems data sets to demonstrate RWE in support of Bayer s products. **YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Positions open covering West, East, Central US, and Southeast The primary responsibilities of this role, Director Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), are to: + Lead the development and implementation of U.S. Data Generationand Observational Studies (DG&OS) research in the field for the Bayerproduct portfolio; + Be responsible for DG&OS research plans with customers to meettheir informational needs; + Design and conduct studies including outcomes, economics andepidemiology studies; + Interact with Managed Care Organization (MCOs), Center forMedicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) todeliver value messages for product pricing and reimbursement, andutilization; + Develop communication/publication strategies for DG&OS; + Share proactively scientific information with brand alignednational/regional key accounts/customers and the key opinion leaderswithin those organizations as well as local thought leaders in both evidence-based medicine and health economics; + Share proactively scientific information with brand alignednational/regional key customers, for approved products, share high leveleducational scientific information, and clinical guidelinesdifferentiating product attributes as well as outcomes studies with keydecision makers within national and regional accounts; + Educate KOLs on ongoing/planned scientific studies, publications,disease state, mechanism of action, burden of illness, prevalence, andother company approved information in the public domain, for allproducts, develop and maintain high level scientific relationships withkey health outcomes thought leaders; + Provide field based health outcomes information/education tophysicians and other clinicians; + Address unsolicited queries with medical accuracy and fairbalance; + Provide proactive communications including formularypresentations, complex medical information/clinical and health economicsand outcomes data, and build peer-to-peer relationship with Managed CareMedical/Pharmacy Directors in collaboration account lead (for US ManagedCare); + Initiate key field-based health economics and outcomes researchstudies from conception, through protocol development, to execution,completion and dissemination; + Facilitate Bayer sponsored Phase IV studies if appropriate,identifying study sites as needed; + Represent DG&OS at U.S. Medical, health economics, and managedcare congresses and conventions, in addition, monitor and facilitatepreCongress abstract submissions to the publications review process,attend poster sessions and oral presentations during scientificmeetings, and provide post-meeting reports summarizing key data fromscientific meeting; + Gather actively and monitor competitive intelligence; + Provide health economics and outcomes research education andpro ect training to Market Access; + Review content relating to health economics or observationalresearch for customer facing material developed for Market AccessMarketing; + Present documented evidence on the value story/research for allkey Bayer products; + Determine research needs of key stakeholders and work with them toinitiate necessary research pro ects further documenting the value, intheir population, or key Bayer products. + Creating connections with key decision makers at Payers andHealthcare systems. + Deliver Clinical/Economic/HEOR Value Propositions Presentations + Optimize Clinical Pathways and support Informatics + Collaborate with external HP/PBM/IDNs to generate RWE **WHO YOU ARE** Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: **Required Qualifications:** + Ph.D. in health economics or related healthcare or economics disciplinerequired, or Phar.D., M.D. with Health Economics Outcomes Research(HEOR) training; + Experience in health economics andoutcomes research in pharmaceutical industry, includingexperiences in managing pro ect teams; + Be self-directed, ability to work alone, entrepreneurial, collaborative; + Sound understanding of health economic research principles; + Ability to think strategically and make sound health economic andbusiness decisions; + Sound understanding of pricing, reimbursement and government agencyrequirements, as well as the competitive economic dynamics ofpharmaceutical industry in key markets; + Excellent communication skills and good understanding in the multicultural corporate environments. + Must hold a current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license **Preferred Experience:** + At least five years of progressive experience in health economics andoutcomes research in pharmaceutical industry, including at least two years ofexperiences in managing pro ect teams Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $186,000- $250,000 Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
