The Opportunity

Hyatt seeks an enthusiastic Director, HIC Accounting to join our Inclusive Collection Business Unit. In this role, you will oversee accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance to US Local (Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Colombia and Panama) GAAP, SOX (internal controls) assertions over the financial statements. You will create, update and improve policies and procedures, narratives and flow-charts. You will also monitor and supervise financial systems (SAP S4 HANA GRC, ARCS, External Audit PBC, Hyperion Financial Management and others), lead internal and external audit engagements and create financial statements and foot notes explaining variances, as well as ad hoc activities supporting the overall business unit as needed.

The Role

Essential Functions:

Design, implement improve internal controls, policies procedures, narratives, flowcharts while ensuring SOX compliance.Review adjust accounting records financial statements to meet Local US GAAP requirements. Design maintain chart of accounts. Structure accounting records enabling them to be leveraged for analysis (profit centers, cost centers, reference assignment field usage) as well as standardization across regions legal entities. Maintain ARCS reconciliations in compliance with best practices full transparency, enabling work to be leveraged for successful external internal audit testing with no reconciling items.Align to Corporate standards practices (in both SAP S4 HANA Hyperion Financial Management). Drive an automation agenda (BI or RPAs), optimizing financial processes across the company.Collaborate with FPA on Budget, Forecast LRP elaboration.Update team (training) Accounting on latest GAAP practices. Drive and improve account reconciliations quality. Update team (training) on latest financial tools to optimize processes.Oversee above accounting teams, providing technical advice as needed streamlining communication ensuring consistency across the company. Drive collections effort coordinating with Property finance leads.Create financial statements, foot notes KPIs and explain variances (Balance Sheet, PL, Cashflow Equity). Promptly submit Corporate, external internal financial data deliverables. Act as Business Partner to the organization (providing Ad hoc information as needed). Liaise BU with Audit engagements, leading ensuring successful testing results.

Minimum of five years of experience leading an accounting department at a publicly traded company. Internal controls including SOX compliance.Experience with external audits; Big Four experience is a plus. Knowledge of US GAAP reporting.CPA certification preferred, CFA desirable.Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (particularly Excel PowerPoint), SAP, S4 HANA, Hyperion Financial Management, Blackline. ARCS, and EBS.Professional-level proficiency in financial English.Expertise in taxes, with a focus on e-invoicing e-accounting.Strong skills in project management, leadership, innovation and interpersonal communication.Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
